Next Liverpool Manager

Starting a thread I know some people will say is disrespectful, but the discussion has already started elsewhere anyway.

Even some of the most ardent Slot supporters are struggling to see a realistic road back now. Whether it happens tomorrow, next week, or in a few months, it feels like most people accept that change is probably coming.

Rather than derailing the Slot (and other threads) with debates about replacements, it makes sense to have a separate place to discuss potential next manager.

Available managers off the top of my head:
Conte
Guardiola (lol)
Iraola
Glasner

I’d say Conte is the safe bet for success. Iraola is the outside bet for suiting us but yet to be successful. Glasner would be an interesting choice as has a history of winning, but is yet to be at a big club. Guardiola would be hilariously brilliant just to see citeh fume, but will obviously never happen.

Ljinders has tried twice elsewhere and failed to step up. Whatever his role in success under Klopp I would avoid him as a manager

I am increasingly finding myself down for Iraola. He might not win us stuff, but no one gives you a guarantee of that. At least with Iraola though we’d go down fighting and make it worth watching.

“it’ll be like a new signing”

That raised my hopes

Basically it’s copying the Rodgers story so badly it feels like it can sue for defamation.

Well that was an interesting 30 seconds…

The Leverkusen rumor has been around for a few weeks now.

Hopefully we’ll be painting a mural for him.

You’ve heard of Willem II, well prepare for Set Piece FC II.

Won’t last that long. He will be gone in October is my prediction. I’d lock that until then.

Can’t see him being sacked this year.

I’m sure Klopp will be the favorite to return for the 27/28 season.

The TAN family are kind of giving me good vibes about Araola. He hasn’t won any trophy or a league title elsewhere which is a worry. Would he be able to rotate the team well for Champions League, F.A Cup and Carabo cup as well?

However, I really like Sebastian Honeß of vfB Stuttgart. He plays the cool heavy metal football and is an impressive, emotional Klopp esque type figure and he connects with the fans. Can he handle the physical fast pace EPL though?

Doing it proactively is admittedly different than dealing with injuries, but when they beat us earlier this season they had a truck load of players missing and they didn’t skip a beat. It is at least suggestive that if he made 4-5 changes to keep things fresh the guys coming in would be coming into a well drilled side with everyone, even the back ups, knowing what was expected of them.

If results and performances continue to trend as they are he will be struggling in the bottom half.

And I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t at this point.

If we keep Slot, will he turn it around next season? Very few believe that. Our bad performances have been going on for so long that most expect us to be well off the pace.

If Slot’s bosses stick rather than twist, and Slot gets back to the form of the first season and gives us a strong title challenge, if not the title, then fair enough. We were wrong and they were right, and we will be delighted with that.

But…

That feels like a long shot. The players are not with him. The fans are not with him. We’ve lost so many games - mid table form. The football we are playing is crap, in comparison to the talent we have.

Surely we will see a new man installed!

Iraola or Hoeness for me, assuming someone like Enrique is a pipe dream.

I guess it depends on what difference Reijnen makes, and whether the new signings can add a little bit more to the team’s attacking threat. If we take early leads and dont have to sub off most of our defence we might get more points on the board than we have been doing.

Team looks lethargic, is he keep going let them have weeks off.

I see nothing positive from keeping him. It just seems he thinks our entire situation is down to set pieces.

It’s Brendan Rodgers story part 2.
