Next Liverpool Manager

We are starting a little early aren’t we? Our next manager is probably going to be still playing the game, so they have about 7-10 years to get their coaches badge and maybe coach a few teams for 4 or so years.

What is known is that they’ll need to be the cream of the crop to follow on from Sir Arne’s 5 PL titles (not including last year’s).

5? Hahahahaha…we might be in relegation spots come this October lol…

Either Klopp, Nagelsmann, Guardiola, Zidane, Conte or Enrique. Liverpool is not a place for low-tier coaches. When it comes to coaches, do not select them based on so-called “potential”.

Just get one of the big names out there, that’s it.

Please remember: Both Benitez and Klopp already achieved big successes elsewhere before joining us.

Don’t take this the wrong way dude, but do you engage in this much fantasy elsewhere in your life?

If its true that this guy is a set piece expert then its hard to see what difference this will make given that we are actually pretty good at set-pieces.

Looking at that list

I think you mean breach of copyright; but I get your point

I can see that having a well balanced coaching staff is important, but you have to ask what Slot himself offers if this guy is so essential. We have a very talented squad of players, but this season they have appeared lethargic and incoherent. All Slot appears to have done is piss them off.

Of course, it’s always possible that the club see Reijnen as a replacement for Briggs and that they still want a new head coach.

Surely a new coach would bring in his own staff.

Reijnen is confirmation that Slot is staying. We might as well write the next season off.

I think we will be a bit better at the start of next season with a ‘normal’ preseason, players returning from injury and some new signings.

We won’t have the squad to challenge for anything and Slot is out of depth anyway but we will be a bit better.

So who’s going to sack him? His mate who’s out of contract with him in June 2027?

Not good enough for a contract extension. Not bad enough to be sacked.

Slot (and Hughes) seeing out the contract is the most likely scenario.

See you again end of May 2027?

How much staff do they actually tend to bring? A couple of right hand coaches is what I assumed, but maybe that extends further? Not out of the question that a set piece coach could be outside that “own staff”.

Come on, someone give me some damn straws to clutch at! :frowning:

I feared this thread would be tempting fate.

He was described as being an analyst and technical advisor when last with Arne. I think his input will be much more than just on set pieces.

Depends on the coach and the move but some bring a whole host of people (look who arrived and left with Jurgen).

Simone Inzaghi would be my choice, already looks like he’s wanting to return to Europe after a year in Saudi. Wouldn’t be upset with Iraola or Farioli either.

World Cup will scupper that.
