This needs looking into. A mate sent me something about this and I replied ā€œit’s bullshitā€ assuming it was just someone on SM looking for clicks.
There’s a bit of ambiguity in his comment. English not being his first language might be a factor.
But some explanation is needed. If it turns out he missed games he could have played in to be ready for the WC then he needs fucking off, no question about it.

Who cares? The season was over after we were pathetic v psg

liverpool.com sole purpose is to drive clicks. Just another BS site. Not as bad as anfield watch but really not that far off.

I care. I don’t like the idea one of our top players would miss games because he thought it would benefit him in being ready to play for his country.
Like I said, hopefully it’s something lost in translation, but if not he can fuck off.

Thats why we finished 5th and not 4th. Kick him out :see_no_evil_monkey:

He either said it or he didn’t. It needs explaining.

Full pre-match press conference with Alisson. As I do not understand Portuguese, I have to use the English translation subtitles provided by YouTube. Not once, I repeat, not once, Alisson has said anything that the garbage site liverpool.com accused him of. I would not even bother to click of that shite of a site to read their garbage. They often create discourse with twisted information to enrage LFC supporters towards our team and players.

Ali handled himself really well for almost 1/2 hour of press conference, with the Brazilian press kept piling on about the pressure of failures.

Should the club mount an investigation into every bit of transparent clickbait bullshit put out there?

It’s hardly an investigation. He either said it or he didn’t. It would take 10 minutes.
You’d expect the medical department would know anyway, which would make the whole situation even more unpalateable if it were true.

He didn’t say it; it’s all fake. I also can’t understand at all why so many people fall for this nonsense.

I can not fathom why certain get so angry about it.
We know he was injured. So anything that happened was with the supervision of our medical staff and necessary.

Let me think???

He was also back for the last game, so it isn’t as if he was skiving.

That was obviously just a warm up for the WC.

This just shows how easy it is to get people outraged. Obviously, in this case it’s unimportant, but when it comes to whipping up hate against people who are different, it becomes more sinister. We’re going to be bombarded with so much disinformation in the near future that it’s really important to develop strategies to keep a grip on reality.

Do you really think that if that were true, the club would have done nothing, and it would have been kept quiet for all this time?

Or that if he was putting one over on the club that he’d forget it was a nefarious plot and then spill the beans?

Even with all the ā€œscienceā€ there is still a ton of grey during those last days to weeks around returning to competition and there is never a definitive science backed measure of whether a player is ready. That means the consideration on if they are ready will always include related questions like ā€œhow much do we need him to be ready?ā€ and ā€œwhat is the cost if we try and he has a set back?ā€ We were in a period where the answer to the first was ā€œnot that muchā€ and to the second was ā€œenormousā€ and so it would have been normal and totally appropriate to hold off reintroducing him for one or two more games than we otherwise might have if there wasnt a world cup, or if we felt real pressure about qualifying for a CL spot.
