I’m reading this at the moment after hearing the author on the Dalrymple podcast. Fascinating stuff!

He has another book which came out about 2 years ago which looks at events and societies across the following 4 centuries, called ‘After 1177bc.’

Yes, around the time it was released. I’ll need to give it another read as I’ve probably forgotten exactly what it said. But I do remember enjoying it though.

It’s interesting how quickly things change in this field. You’d think that there wasn’t much new to be learned about events that took place over three thousand years ago, but advances in technology keep bringing up new perspectives.
