Well done to the club. I think things were handled the right way. Season end review was completed, title winning manager was shown respect, and then we move on.
On Alonso, if we weren’t convinced about him before he went to RM then I don’t think half a season there failing to convince some big egos to play ball changed their opinion. I still think he is a great up and coming manager btw… but probably not ready yet.

I absolutely predict we will turn out in Aug looking like a completely different team. We’ll then be able to fully gauge just how ‘titanic’ this Slot tenure was.
Will he just be remembered for that Title, or that he stewarded the greatest loss in form at the top of the game, the most pathetic title defence Ive seen probably of any club, and not only that, he insisted on it!

Joyce said a few weeks ago that he had to end the season well and he simply didn’t. The final straw could have been Mo’s post getting tons of likes and realising the players were done.

As a few of us suggested when the “news” broke, if you are going to make a decision like firing Slot you want to first turn over every stone examining what it would take to enable him to turn it around. I imagine that idea was floated as part of that the exploration of what Slot staying would have to look like, and some people reported it as more of a decisive position than it was.
