Arne Slot - Head Coach (Part 1)

I didn’t think I was being aggressive, but it is hard not to get annoyed when people continually argue again a popular perception of your character rather that what you actually say.

I haven’t defended the manager. I have no fucking interest in defending the manager. His body of work after thirty games this season speaks for itself. It hasn’t been good enough and he hasn’t been good enough. The only question is whether his performance this season should be given more weight than his performance last season, and cost him his job. I’m open minded on that, especially with a candidate like Alonso available.

But I don’t like the pile on. I don’t like the forensically pulling apart of what he said when he was tired, emotional, pissed off and someone from TNT shoved a microphone under his nose. That isn’t defending him.

Also. Wolves will be straight back up next year.

Jamie O’Hara thinks that because to be frank Jamie O’Hara is fucking basic.

FSG are not going to sack Slot for not finishing in the CL places, as if it’s some kind of reflex punishment for letting us all down.

FSG will sack Slot if they feel that the interests of Liverpool Football Club are best served by dismissing him. That’s a decision that should be analysed and taken if we don’t qualify for the Champions League. And also if we do.

It’s entirely possible that Slot misses out on CL and FSG conclude he is the man for the job regardless. It’s also possible that he does qualify for the CL and they still decide to part company.

We know that we know nothing :slightly_smiling_face:, but the fact is that there’s been increased discussion in the media about a possible dismissal, even here in Germany it’s now a topic of conversation. And rightly so, in my opinion.

I agree we have no clue what the decision makers think, what will be the reasons and different percentage of factors that will decide to stick or change. And the timing.

And the media only do their jobs, of course we are an interesting topic all season, considering the size of the club, league and our struggles.

Yeah, but I don’t think he’ll be sacked as punishment for not finishing in the top five. He’ll get the bullet if FSG think he isn’t the right man anymore, and there is a better one out there.

Not sure where to put this:

At no point in that game from minute 1 to minute 94 did we dominate it. Pointless passing from side to side and backwards doesn’t count. It took to the 77th minute to have our 2nd shot on target. I admire your constant mission of trying to deflect all criticism but unfortunately in this case your argument holds no water its a fallacy.

@Mascot
Wolves are rubbish.

In good faith..
If they come up again next year I’ll donate £100 to charity. DEBRA, the charity Graeme Souness advocates.
If they dont, you might donate to a charity of your choice.

Fine, but I feel that I should make you aware of the fine print.

Note: Any attempt to use a card against the instigator of the Fuck Off Card (Trademark pending) makes said user a bigger twat than the original creator

Have you all had a meeting to work out the best way to specifically piss me off?

Stop ascribing intent to me that simply isn’t there. I’m not trying to deflect anything. I’m interested in talking about the football.

Well, whatever, maybe not, it’s all just speculation. We can’t really know what’s going on behind the scenes, especially since external pressure and public criticism have increased significantly. You can’t bury your head in the sand and just wait it out indefinitely when you unfortunately have to fear, and rightly so, that the next defeat is just around the corner.

I’m not part of a pile on.
Never have with Slot.
But last few games, including West Ham have swayed me towards wanting him gone.
Last night, we were cowardly against a team with two PL wins all season.

Two similar performances in our next two matches will see us out of sll competitions this season. We will lose Friday night and get slaughtered on Turkey on Tuesday.

Edit.
We could save the season by benching some players, starting Rio, showing a bit of passion.

I’m not putting £100 of my families money on a daft internet bet. Let’s just remember this as a friendly interest thing. I think they are straight back up. You think they are shite. Let’s see who is right in a year.

Fair enough.
I’m still doing it as I am convinced this Wolves team aren’t good enough.

Don’t make him angry. You won’t like him when he’s angry…

But similarly you can’t make decision like that and expect to be successful. FSG don’t make snap decisions like this, and they have proved to be good owners.

I don’t want Liverpool to be a club where a manager is only half a season of dodgy results from the sack.

No one does. We want to be challenging on all fronts.

When is enough actually enough though?
For me the last few matches have been so awful that my mind is fast being made up.

When there is a better alternative. And that has to be a better alternative for several seasons going forward and not a 3 or 4 game new manager bounce.
