Arne Slot - Head Coach (Part 1)

Players competing in the World Cup, disrupted preparations, not enough holiday time, new players – I can rattle off the excuses Slot is going to put forward in a heartbeat.

It’s clear I think he should go but if they keep him that’s my position.

So basically if Slot goes…Edwards won out, if he stays Slot wins out.

Indykalia is 100% right regardless. Classic clickbait garbage from him.

Cannot ever recall Klopp ever mentioning XG, maybe missing chances but not XG.

Just playing devil’s advocate for a second, but:

Two pacy wingers?
Better balance in the defence with one or two additions?
A really good midfield signing who stops teams waltzing through?
Some introspection/humility from Slot, who knows he was almost let go, so he has renewed determination to overcome, and prevail?

Don’t get me wrong, I think he should go. Just trying to find a possible reason to think the football we’ve been seeing might change, if we keep him.

Im led to believe there is truth in some of what he says.

Playing devils advocate with what Indykalia says.

It’s actually more chance he stays in they get CL not because it’s an achievement but more due to the fact the club can take a CL hit for one season but not two.

That would be my angle but we will see, I think even the journos going “with what I know” it allows for some doubt. It’s not sources are saying he’s there for sure.

Does 2 pacy wingers and a better balanced defensive midfielder change anything?

May be going forward but our issues defensively in midfield is a lot down to our setup especially when we try to press, the system/tactic atm just doesn’t back up any press and that must be from the coach.

Could be a switched on defensive midfielder helps with a mid or low block by being better at pressuring players to win the ball back and also tracking runners.

Also we do need a metronome type midfielder so we can control possession whilst also being able to play through the lines.

I suppose from what I have seen of Arne’s tactics, this season especially, I don’t trust his plan or tactical setup either on or off the ball.

The trouble with that scenario is it could be a rather bumpy start to the new season and and any leeway he may have got has been eroded away through this shit storm of a season.

I hear you! I don’t think he should stay, but I’m mentally trying it on to see if I can think of any reasons why the football might change.

Based on his current form,he’ll get two pacy wingers then not play them.

I do not want Slot to be here next season…But these posts on X the garbage dump is disgusting and disgraceful.

Yep, we have to stay classy.

Mind you, without knowing what’s what, a post online could be almost anything. Fan of another club? Immature person? Or a true Liverpool fan letting themselves down.

Yep trolls not fans, most think his time is up but are still respectful as it should be.

Not fans.

Glad similar garbage gets called out for the most part on here.

But he wasn’t at the cutting edge of modern thinking and innovation like Slot is.

Alonso is locked in. It’s too quiet in his camp.

How sad that the family of a man who only last season led us to just the 2nd league title in over 30 years are being subject to that level of abuse. God knows what Shankly and his family would have had to put up with on social media when he had a run of 6 seasons without a trophy.

Let’s not pretend otherwise. We have “fans” who are no better than “fans” of any other club and arguably worse and that is sad. I used to think we were better than that but the levels of whinging about just one poor season smacks of entitlement. That “this means more” bollocks was and is frankly cringe worthy and embarrassing.
