Swedish sour herring is…something else.

My grandfather used to make it, it is common here on the coast, but that is NOTHING like that cruel piece of food culture from Sweden. My girlfriend is Swedish and she asked me if I knew that Swedish Surstrømning is different from the semi-evil stuff my grandfather made. I told her, yes, I very much know that. The Swedish one smells like death. But sure, it is healthy and all that. Eddible in a war sone or if I am starving. Thankfully, I have never truly starved.

Edit: Sweden actually sent a lot of it to Ukraine early in the war (I mean, it is food, healthy and can last forever). Ukrainians bombed Russian positions with it, using drones, as a joke in several videos.

addendum: I should also be serious and note that several Ukrainians also loves it. It is not so different from the evil fermented stuff they have in eastern Europe.

Arne Slot has revealed when Liverpool will report back to the AXA Training Centre for pre-season, as he aims to ensure his champions are “serial winners.”

Liverpool will officially begin pre-season on July 8, six weeks after their post-season break officially begins

“I think we have a lot [of potential] to compete next season again,” he told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

“But what I don’t know yet, and that’s going to be the interesting one, is if we have this elite mentality, this serial winner mentality, of showing up season after season after season.

“I think I’ll get the answer already on July 8, when we come back together, seeing what shape the players are in.

“Many teams have won the Premier League once, but not many have won it multiple seasons in a row and that’s for a reason.

“First of all, because it’s so difficult; second of all, not every player has this elite mentality.

“When I talk about Mo, it’s not a coincidence that he’s for seven years already on a certain level, and last pre-season he was the one who was the fittest when we arrived back after the break.

“So that is a mentality you need to have to have a chance of becoming a serial winner.

“This is something we have to prove, the players have to prove and me as well, during the off-season.

“The first day for me to judge if we have a chance to become serial winners is July 8 when I see them back.”

Yeah I really like Arne getting this message out now. Enjoy your 6 weeks off boys but keep training and show me how much you want it. Makes it clear to the likes of Chiesa and Elliot (if they are still around) that the path towards being part of the team is being in peak condition. James Milner it.

"Two things hit me particularly hard emotionally when I think back to that day.

It wasn’t about the words themselves, but the way they sang them – with such passion. It was so, so powerful, and you could feel it was coming from the depths of their hearts. Even now, when I think about it, I get emotional. Not to the point of tears, but every time I recall it, it moves me.

The second thing that deeply touched me was the number of people who told me: ‘I’ve been going to Liverpool matches for 45 years, for 40 years, or my whole life I’ve supported Liverpool, but I’ve never experienced Anfield or a moment like this!’

That really hits me emotionally, because I’m not the only one at the club who lifted a trophy for the first time in 35 years.

No, this club has had so much success throughout its history, and that’s why, when people say that this moment is one of the most special for them – and I, as the manager, am a part of that – every time someone tells me that, I think: ‘We really did something special!’

On top of that, the whole stadium was celebrating. Those two things are what make me emotional.

And what truly makes me happy when I look back on that day are the songs that were played – full credit to the DJ – and the fans who stayed outside the ground singing.

It was an incredible day, and a day that will forever stay in my memory!"

Arne Slot missed the LMA awards/event following yesterday’s incident. More good words from a man I’m really becoming very fond of.

He has won the Premier League Manager of the Season and LMA Manager of the Year awards.

Was a late entrant to Slot’s coaching team.

Always felt that he was a temporary addition and had ambitions of being a head coach himself.

We’ll just replace him with someone else.

Yeah although in fairness in that clip they at least said they were very impressed with what they had seen from Arne. I supposed footballers (except the likes of Neville) are very status quo and are often unable to see past the previous season.
