You suggest clearly last week there season was over and you made no mention of refs.
Although he did make this post yesterday, which was so much out of character that I almost had a heart attack. I was so in shock that I even didn’t press like on it at the time (doing that now, mind you). I was close to writing him in PM to ask if he needed help. See, I deeply care about the Git and this post smelled of either the deepest of irony or some malignant spirit riding his body and typing it without his knowledge:
I take it you didn’t pick up the sarcasm.
Arsenal are not out of it, at all. If they win they will be four points behind plus we have a game in hand. It’s still a nice cushion, but the closing gap will give them hope. There is a long way to go.
Looking at the thing as objectively as I can - which is impossible as I have a vested interest as a Liverpool fan - we are the most balanced team in the league, and I do think we will win it. Pundits have been wondering when we will have a blip, and I think we are in it now, having won just 13 points from the last 21 (3 wins and 4 draws).
I do think we will snap out of it very quickly, and we will start piling on a few wins again which will dishearten the chasing pack. When I say ‘pack’ they are all stumbling along themselves, too. Chelsea and Man City both just drew, and I don’t see them getting into the race. Forest continue to defy expectations and the longer they do, the more likely top four comes into focus for them.
I would still have Arsenal as the most likely challengers to us, and if they beat Spurs it will put a bit of wind in their sails. We have not been playing badly, but we need to get back on the winning trail asap, and I think we will.
I also agree that the officiating is nowhere near fair or even, but I’m still backing us to win the title this season, despite it. No arrogance in that though, just a sober assessment based on how I see it all shaping up.
Long way to go, mind.
Oh, I did. It was a swimming pool full of undiluted Plumbo
I do actually think they will drop points in one of these two games. It’s why I said to a friend 4pts over these two games this week was good enough especially as it kept Forest at bay.
I expect this is going to be a nasty North London derby. A loss for Arsenal would make the past 7 days incredibly damaging for their season, but Spurs are hardly in shape to deal with a rivalry loss - the job conversation around Postecoglou has died down a little, but that could change by the end of the day.
Hope you still got that legendary sense of humour @Magnus :0)

You fiend ! Ok; I shall bite. Because I just had sex with my girlfriend and feel really giddy.
The problem with Arsenal and Arteta is that Arteta doesn’t have an original thought in his head. All he has done is copy Pep’s tactics as Pep thought it was time to take all risk out of the game and put on a gazillion CBs. Then he relied heavily on Pulisball. If this side was even just average at dead balls, they’d be in the Europa League hunt.
Absolute shit team to watch.
I just saw Rice’s comments after the match, “felt like we should’ve scored 10.”
Hold on, you scored on a corner that wasn’t a corner, and due to some proper shit goalkeeping. I was recovering from a minor procedure watching the match, so maybe I missed it on the account of pain pills but they fucking weren’t that good that night were they?
Well they had 6 blocked shots and 4 on target their expected goals was lower than their actual goal target.
Watching it they seemed lucky, statistically it says much the same.
However much didn’t really change, they are in this race due to the way we are playing. They got the result this midweek we have an advantage of two games. I would question the attitude of some and this contract talk needs sorting one way or the other.
But at this moment we are the only team in the race with the players who have done this before. A few have gone toe to toe with Man City and the likelihood is I don’t expect we will need to do that.
Still they are in the the race it is up to their opponents to realise how to defend against them. I would hope Villa would be a better test on that front but who knows.
Knowing how to defend doesn’t matter one iota if the refs just give them carte blanche to foul at will, as was the case yesterday.
Regardless all the data is there and they handed one to them.
They need to defend better maybe stop celebrating one result against us and actually show some control.
What they are doing , and getting away with , is cheating plain and simple. Every corner is a variation on a theme of blocking the goalie and pushing defenders out of the way. How the fuck do they get away with it time after time after time ?
Why the fuck do Arsenal need another DM?
I would imagine Jorginho is going and Rice might be moved forward a bit.
That should help them score more goals…
Partey and Jorginho are both out of contract, but they have a +1 option with Jorginho.
Gooner at 4.50pm today…
“Scousers about to drop points and we’ve got average Villa at home!”
At 7.30pm today…
‘no team has ever won every game’
What a genius prophet Arseteta is.
