Especially as for a 5 year span or so through the peak of Wenger’s years the common claim about Arsenal was they had a reserve team full of youth players so good it could get a top 4 place

I think we knocked them out twice.
I do remember their kids plus Julio Baptista smashing a reserve version of our team one year though

We played them 3 times in a row in that week. Gerrard scored a beauty, one of his best goals technically. Two cup defeats and then a league win, Crouch hattrick.

Poor Arsenal without their defensive greats Tomiyasu, Zinchenko, Cauliflower and Ben Tan held to a 0-0 at home against Everton.
So satisfying to see.
Opponents significantly reduced the number of corners given away against them since the United match. As if a Dyche team would concede from one of them anyway

Look it’s tough. To score goals they have to look to a player who failed at city who they bought for big money, or a player who failed at Chelsea who they bought for bigger money.

It’s really, really fucking stupid. Yes, they are great at set pieces, but when you get to the point of trying to actively engineer those dead balls, teams will just stop giving you them. Meanwhile all your attacking fluidity is gone, because formerly good attacking players like Martinelli and Saka have got used to going down the outside to try and win corners or flopping over 30 yards from goal.

Interested to know how you stop giving away corners? 
Oddest thing is 20% of their goals against come from Corners.
Not quite half like Man Utd but it does highlight stuff.
Teams are often OK to give away corners because it’s a low percentage chance. You can’t avoid giving away a corner, but you can give away fewer if you are more willing to let the opposition have the ball and run at the byline…

I recall a period where teams playing against Stoke would purposely put the ball out for corners rather than throw in’s due to Rory Delap!
Arsenals ability to score in open play has been hampered (and set plays seeing as he’s crucial to winning free kicks…Arteta confirms Saka due out for a few weeks…“It’s not looking good. He’s going to be out for many weeks.”
Sterling out too.
I’m not believing one word what Arteta says. Saka will be back in one week’s time.
