Amazing idea that by her, given that Senesi and Colwill are both left footed.

Go for it, Chelsea.

What should Chelsea do?

Sign players… that’s the level of punditry for you. At least there is a decent goalie on the list for once, however you wonder whether it was the Burnley team he played in. Others have looked unbeatable down there.

Did not want them to miss out on Europe. Think they’re now nailed on for a Top4 finish.

I’m actually tempted to put a small amount of money on them to win the league next season.

4 Years of that isn’t there… suppose they can loan him out until then.

4 years in the bomb squad it is then?

Looks like Sideshow Marc is off to Real Madrid.

In a few months time there will be a conversation in a council house in Birmingham between a man and his 6 year old son…

“Can you believe it son, we are going to watch Villa take on the mighty Real Madrid at Villa Park! I’ve dreamed of these days”
“Wow Dad, are Real Madrid good? Who plays for them?”
“Who plays for them? Oh son, the superstars! This is the team of Raul, Zidane and Ronaldo. Bale, Modric and Figo! The greatest of all time, son.”
“I’m so excited Dad!”
“Me too son, here let me pull up their team and read out the stars… ok we’ve got Dorian Dumphries, er ok I suppose. Marc Cucurella, wait what why? Ibrahima Kona… what the fuck is this? We are not going”.

He’s a good player. I get why they want him but it’s a bad deal for Chelsea. It’s less than they paid for him despite him being one of the unqualified successes of the Clearlake era and he has years left on his contract.

Was it worth them moving on Lewis Hall and the other youngster for this?

It’s an odd one for Madrid too. €50m spent on Carreras last summer who will now presumably sit behind Cucurella for both club and country.

Are they still having their election?

All done, Perez won again.

I dont think Real have had a single position on the pitch other than goalie and LW that worked well enough to avoid considerations of how they might improve it in the market. I don’t think either LB was bad, but neither really locked it down to the point they you’d ignore a good opportunity to strengthen it and when a player who is exactly the sort of antagonist personality that Jose loves becomes available to me it makes perfect sense they’d go for him.

Also keep in mind that there was group of players reported as being pretty hostile to Arbeloa and disruptive last year, and Carreras was among them. Arby and Jose were very close in their Real days and it wouldnt surprise me if he gave him a run down of the players and identified him as an area where the squad would take to Jose better with a personality transplant in that position.

Cucurella made life pretty hard for Rosenior, so now their LB room has a nice little theme of being absolute grade A morons towards their coach.

For me, in the last two years or so, if I was picking a PL’s bext XI, Cucurella was my LB. It’s not a bad deal for Real, either.
