Wait until the tariffs start to do their work. The Fed was just getting on top of inflation, and it will now spike again. If USD softens against major trading partner currencies, there will be a serious spiral.

Price rises from tariffs arent technically inflation as they are a one time hike.

The level of overlap with people thinking it is important that people understand that will be about 95% with the people arguing in October that it didnt matter than inflation had technically come down because what people care about is high prices and a return to normal inflation doesnt bring the prices down.

They are a one-time hike, but they contribute massively to inflationary pressure. When Argentina destroyed its own economy with protectionism and hyperinflation, the tariff walls weren’t inflation per se, but the the resultant upward pressure on wages was - as was the decline in the peso that made imported goods increase dramatically in real wage terms.

I’ve been wondering about this.
The US hascs good chunk of debt they need to refinance next year. So they want inerest rates as low as possible but am i right in thinking that higher inflation helps here to inflate the debt value away?

I’m also concious that the orange buffon is intersted in inflating asset prices too.

ABC have crumbled and settled a defamation law suit with Trump over comments made by George Stephanopoulos that a jury found that Trump raped E Jean Carroll and have now publicly apologized and are paying him $15m

This bodes incredibly poorly for the attitude of mainstream news organization towards Trump’s threats to them

I was wondering about that this morning.

Is this a calculated move, that 15 mil is better than whatever else he might be able to tip on their heads in a few months’ time?

These people are so damn weird.

Certainly. For all the talk of US news being liberal it is primarily corporate and run by the sorts of people who schmooze in their personal life with the sorts of people who now spend their free time at Mar a Lago. This is a new era and suits are comfortable playing their role.

It was also reported that the head of ABC news had a 1-1 dinner with Suzy Wiles yesterday, which is an incredibly bad look.

Just remember, profits > people.

I wonder how long before heads of media organisations start getting liquidated too…

Stephanopoulos has been badly let down by this. If he had any self-respect he’d resign. He wont though.

Wouldn’t put it past Trump to have set the whole incident up… go 50/50 on the pay out

It’s absolutely astounding that this conversation is happening and that it’s now just part of the every day.
There was a violent, criminal and deadly attempt to overthrow the legitimate election. Of course it was investigated!

That summary in the preview is a piss-take.

Graham is a lapdog, nothing more.
