- Only a couple of people have realized the flaw of the central premise of where this starts - that most of these covid restrictions were only broadly imposed under the Trump administration, and therefore were done so at the local level in ways that are very difficult to tie to the subsequent Democratic administration. Those who pointed that out are being treated like they are insane
- It very bizarre to me that it feels like the conventional wisdom on our response to Covid has solidified on “we over reacted and ruined people’s lives and we’re still waiting on our apology.” Even among non-partisans. Especially after the election that seems to be where a lot of moderates have settled.
- Continetti was a conservative who had seen the light 2-3 years ago. He wrote a highly regarded book about how the conservative movement was realty a sham that was inseparable from and largely driven by nativism. It seems he’s gone back to just parroting whatever line is coming out of the RW establishment.
