There are people in the NATO intelligence community who believe the Steele dossier was a plant by the FSB, to simultaneously discredit the possible allegation while tugging the leash at the same time. The reality is probably a lot more complicated than it set out, and very likely involves his bizarre relationship with Deutsche Bank

The other thing is it is valuable to go back to the Steele Dossier. This was not the basis for the initial Russia investigation in 2016 and ultimately was a fairly trivial part in it, but it did give the press something to cover on a story where people were already sniffing around. One of the popular perspectives among our intelligence experts is that a good portion of the material for it was fed to Steeleās sources by Russian agents specifically for the purpose of making it so salacious that coverage of it couldnāt be avoided. That seems counter intuitive that Russian agents actually working Trump would want the US press to pick up on the link through Steele, but its an idea based on the fact that something hidden seems far more interesting and damaging than the same thing out in the open. Their idea was, allegedly, hide their actual working of Trump in plain sight by giving the press false stories of their connections to focus on. Trump having off the record meetings with Lavrov are easier to wave away when you can point to people upset about that believing the pee tape is real.
What is the relevance of that? If he was a legit agent, even an unwitting one, the Russians would probably find someone like the Khazak guy to float a story of it being true so that people were in turn less likely to believe it to be so.

theres an issue with all of this, telling people they dont understand politics american style, but want to make comment on it and view it through their own national lenseā¦
the issue is, America, like it or not, participate in global politicsā¦
Americans have spent the last 70 years positioning themselves as the global policeperson , if they no longer want to participate , want to act out of self interest and sell out nations for (in global politics scale) short term monetary benefit, without any real exit stratergy then so be it, it will be a short term disaster for millions, but maybe a long term benefit for the emerican people and the rest of the globeā¦
maybe world leaders who have other leading industries are willing to pivot away from constant conflict ā¦maybeā¦
and America can slowly recede into its own bordersā¦ i think youll always be entertaining, with your lust for celebrity, i think youll always have brilliant individuals with the american ideals of pushing yourself, maybe youll just become less relevant.

As someone who is responsible for developing algorithms professionally, yes the data actually lies all the time. It does so especially if you donāt understand the data being fed into it or how someone is expected the output of the model. That is the difficult part of building the bastards.
