Sometimes they are clearer in their thinking in the things they leave unsaid. There is no consideration of benefits to the respective countries aired here. It is purely about Trump’s relationships. The US itself is just a thing that is along for the ride.

It’s absolutely vital that European countries don’t buy US weapons anymore, because this kind of (obvious and quite coarse) ploys is designed to make the Europeans panic, and to entice them into buying ready-made weapons very quickly, from the US of course.
But real security will come when we will be able to build and use our own weapon systems. So from now on, every available penny should be invested into building up a European war industry imo, not enriching the US unduly. Same applies for the UK.
What they say in court is often, is typically, very different than what they all say to the cameras
And when they try to hold the administration’s line in court they get laughed out or threatened with sanctions.
Understand this when they are up there barefaced lying to you. And understand this when the press lets them get away with and pretends to take their claims seriously. And understand this when the press then hold a Dem to account for saying something that is only dubiously correct
You’ve hit the nail on the head there.
Sadly, the percentage of the population who understand that the media drives popular thinking is far too small.
And the percentage of that percentage who understand that the owners of the media do not have the public’s interests at heart is even smaller.

Unfortunately, the majority of the public are too stupid to understand what has been happening
