The Atlantic have a story today of their interview with Trump. The remarkable thing about this piece is that Trump cancelled his formal interview with them in a childish tantrum. But a few days later the journos called him on his private phone and he answered and then gave them an impromptu interview.
Our security procedures are a joke
He says there are no negatives, but I’m pretty sure Canadians would count being American as a pretty big negative
We are perversely fond of free speech, universal access to health care, etc. Weird that way.
But there is also the very basic fact that we are not American. It may not be the obvious difference between Germans and French, we may not be radically different from the people who live just across the border from us, but there is a difference most of us feel. It just never used to have any hostility to it for most of us
Elaborate, please.
I presume it’s because no one they mix with has any direct experience with small businesses, and all their best buds are at worst, higher-ups in large enterprises.
But yes, wholly out of touch.
It really should be a genuine scandal that the president is repeatedly claiming the existence of international negotiations that other countries are denying flat out exist.
That is the point I was making. Candians would see being classed as American a fucking big negative.
Send them a bunch of geordies to drive them , theyll soon drop it
It would be if it weren’t for the fact that nothing really matters anymore.
Especially the truth.
