Not that it matters, that time has long gone but they really dont join the dots with what they say, do they?
Yeah, among other stuff huge oil ressources. These soulless idiots speculate that with increased earth warming, they’ll be able to exploit them.
Why is this even a question?! This isn’t your daddy’s fraudulent business. It’s the bloody US government!
I forget, is she a seasoned diplomat? With adequate experience? Or technical expertise in a field required for governance?
Also the MSM are normalising this sort of appointment by questions of this very kind.
Anti anti trump people will complain about the framing, but this is a stunning statement

A few people have done good treatments of it but it is still underplayed the ideological conflicts that are out in the open in the top echelons of trump’s support. This is just one example

I am sorry I even spent a second trying to read that absolute cesspool of a thread.
Or X at all. What an absolute vat of excrement!
Vivek is a moron, and he argued his position like a moron, but what he is pushing for is not just strongly supported by the SV arm of Trump’s support, but they think they bought the right to have those policies implemented. Yet this position is 180 degrees from the majority of maga and there is no way to compromise on this conflict on one the most animating issues within his coalition.
See also this (keep in mind, the type of immigration people like Vivek are advocating for focuses on college educated Indians who will directly compete with US college grads and do so for lower pay)

Just came across a John Oliver clip where he’s being interviewed by ratboy about his Liverpudlian background and him being a Red. Some of the comments from alleged US based LFC fans like “he’s a commie bastard for disliking Trump but at least he’s a red”
Shankly must be turning in his grave.
I’d love to see some of these alleged LFC fans in a Liverpool pub on a Friday night.
Never going to happen. That would require them leaving their mum’s basments
@RedYank would still be there and he’d sort it
Football transcends politics. LFC fans are from every segment of society, and we are better for it. Politically the city leans left, of course, but we have always had fans from the political right. And plenty of players too.
Shanks was brilliant. In his time. If we could somehow drop him into today’s game, and world, he would not recognize it.
PS - John Oliver is great. He has made it very big over here. I like the interviews he does on Men in Blazer’s and his passion for LFC shines through.
i have a question…
why is an ‘ex’ president still refered to as a president when they not longer are in office, i noticed it during the US election campaign that they still refered to the Don as president trump and assumed it was a typo, but then i saw it more than once, and just now have noticed someone reference ‘president Barak Obama’ in a press report?
As a peace-loving neutral sort, my time in an LFC pub on a Friday night would be limited to drinking pints and singing LFC songs.
Wasn’t always that way for me in pubs though. But that was a long time ago. However, as the late/great Toby Keith once sang:
“I ain’t as good as I once was, but I’m as good once as I ever was.”
It’s just the convention and goes beyond president - senators, judges, ambassadors - the convention is they retain their highest title even after leaving their office/position.
For a country that rejects monarchy they really don’t act like it in a lot of ways
