EFL Cup / League Cup

With City out, we really should be winning this.

Yeah, I’m all of a sudden more arsed about it than I was a few hours ago…

Arsenal might have something to say about that though. Not too many other teams who I’d be wary of.

Half those games are premier league teams facing each other, could make progress that bit easier for those PL teams getting through the next round.

We play
Forest at home
Bournemouth away
Luton away

Nice run.

West Ham vs Arsenal
United vs Newcastle

Some bigger teams will be eliminated

And at least two non PL teams will progress to the next round.

Draw in full

Mansfield vs Port Vale

Ipswich vs Fulham

Man Utd vs Newcastle

Bournemouth vs Liverpool

Chelsea vs Blackburn

West Ham vs Arsenal

Everton vs Burnley

Exeter vs Middlesbrough

Nah; they’re nowhere near our level.

Last season was just an aberration.

Not a bad draw and probably the four toughest left bar us all play each other.

Sorry I missed Chelsea their fans are talking about turning the corner :joy:

Not quite the winner of Port Vale and Sutton but we’ll take that, guess it’ll just have to be the winners of Mansfield and Port Vale instead.

Who did City get?

How did Brentford and Brighton not go through is a minor miracle having watched the ITV EFL cup highlights?

Brighton were screwed, Ugochukwu (already booked) should’ve seen a straight red at the end of the first half for a dangerous high tackle……

How the ref missed that I don’t know. As straight a red as you’ll ever see and not even a second yellow for it. Wild challenge and suds high onto the opposing player’s ankle. Could have easily been an ankle-breaker

Their keeper practically tried to throw the game twice and Brighton missed

7 PL sides out in this round and at least 4 of them to go in the following.

Responding to last season with the earliest possible trophy in a ‘normal’ season would be nice.

Competition should be respected and thread title shouldn’t be changed as long as we are involved in it.

You have just committed a sacrilege. Maybe you are trying to jinx our campaign.

The Vitality Stadium clash will be played on Wednesday November 1 and kick off at 7.45pm GMT.

Not on TV then?

Middlesbrough and Port Vale made it to the next round yesterday.
