Well done Millie! I hope that he comes back at the club at some point. Maybe as a coach, or who knows, as the head coach. He certainly has the brains to succeed if he choses that path after hanging up his boots.
I remember feeling depressed at the news of getting Benteke to complete what at the time looked like another mediocre transfer window and then someone pointing out that we got Milner. 10 years later and with the benefit of hindsight that turned out to be one of the better transfer windows. Not only because it was then when Firmino showed up, or Gomez, who is still a valuable squad member, but because a certain James Milner became one of the best free signings in the history of the club.
He was instrumental in setting new standards and installing a work ethic without which none of the success that followed would have been possible. Kloppâs job would have been much harder without Milner. There should be an opening for him the very instant he decides to call it a day.
