FA Cup 2022/23 - no, we can't

To be fair, when we were accused of the same, was the punishment any different?

Yeah but FSG have no money. :grinning::grinning:

Iā€™ve been to 2 games at Anfield v Chelsea, most recently when they dumped us out the cup about 5 years ago now.

Thousands belting out ā€œchelsea rent boysā€ and hear the same through my TV in most games whenever Chelsea are shown live.

Chelsea fans chanting Touchelā€™s name today, toxic cunts.

What? Why?

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

The current one is struggling.

Imagine being homophobic when thereā€™s so much other ammo to go at Chelsea fans about.

Yā€™know, fickle Tory hooligans with a history of racist incidents, whose most important figure in their history isnā€™t a player or a manager but a corrupt Russian billionaire.

Itā€™s hard they may end up in the same boat some years down the line.

Hillsborough: FA to look into reports of overcrowding during Sheffield Wednesday-Newcastle FA Cup tie - BBC Sport
The Football Association will speak to officials from Sheffield Wednesday and Newcastle and the police over reports of overcrowding during the FA Cup third-round tie at Hillsborough.

Newcastle fans claimed on social media there was a lack of stewarding in the Leppings Lane End before Saturdayā€™s kick-off and that they were crammed in.

A total of 97 Liverpool fans died after a crush in the stand in April 1989.

The Newcastle United Supportersā€™ Trust has appealed for information.

It is asking anyone involved to contact them with details of their experience.

As first reported by the Times, after becoming aware of the fansā€™ claims, the FA wants to learn more from the clubs and will speak to safety authorities.

There were 4,500 Newcastle fans in the Leppings Lane End for the game, which ended in a 2-1 win for League One side Sheffield Wednesday against their Premier League opponents.

The Hillsborough disaster occurred during a FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest.

Kelly Cates retweeted this thread. Frankly, terrifying and utterly outrageous in equal measure:

That stand and oneā€™s like it should have come down in the 90s, itā€™s not like itā€™s not spacious behind the stand itself as my mate lives not too far away and so we passed it on a few nights out.

Sheffield Wed also pleading poverty but they were a PL team at the time not the league one they are now.

I always thought after Hillsborough, the said stand had been demolished or at least upgradedā€¦as most old stands had to beā€¦obviously notā€¦

Apparently it was converted into seating but little else of its lay out has changed.

Good that we went through tonight also as we would have 2 weeks off if we didnā€™t. Donā€™t know anymore if that would be a good or bad thing these days, Iā€™m going bad as of course I want us as far as possible in all competitions.

Payback time for the pain Brighton caused us this season.

We would have had another warm holiday break Iā€™d rather we didnā€™t.

A week off is fine.

Yeah, thatā€™s why Iā€™m saying. Not sure if mini pre-seasons are good for us anymore. Weā€™ll still have enough time between coming games to work on things. And we need games now to get our shit together. Plus, still in 3 competitions and maybe the best chance for a trophy this season.

Love this little Gnonto kid from Leeds.

Saw some of his highlights before last summer when he joined them.

Constant pain the arse for defenders. :tada:

City v arse , city fans silent.

Hope Arsenal dump them out.

& then I hope Pep and Mikel do go to a bar and have some drinks togetherā€¦before getting into a bar fight with some drunken henchmen and end up smacked.
