FIFA World Cup 2026 - USA/Canada/Mexico (Part 2)

He certainly makes the most out of that. I don’t like such penalties since it is constructed by the striker, but they are often given

We were nearly 2-0 nil down.

Million percent dive.

That was a pen.

He got the touch and doesn’t have to move his feet or hurdle a keeper

Sometimes. And in some leagues. But it was certainly not a clear penalty and would not be given by many refs

My commentator is bewilderingly stupid. Thought there was a clear handball earlier, thought that was a certain penalty for Kanr.

I thInk Kane did indeed dive, but saw enough contact I was surprised it was not given

He was going over before the contact.

Thete was contact, therefore a penalty.

Justice. Text book definition of leaving your leg in unnaturally to create contact and pretend that is enough to justify going down

It was, the keeper didn’t get the ball

He knew he wasn’t reaching the ball so started falling before the contact.

So he has to hurdle a player to stop any contact and therefore be off balance!

Bloody hell! That’s some save!
Quick reaction, strong wrist.

Keeper did not get Kane until after he was diving. If he had stayed on his feet, I think he probably would have earned the penalty

Kane has won numerous penalties like that through his career. His right foot is planted, he shuffles his left foot alongside so his feet are together, then goes over the goalie with his legs together, rather theatrically.

No penalty, but Kane will have expected one, as that’s how it has usually panned out for that snide move over his career.
