If an any standard was set in the Messi incident I simply disagree with you on what that was. Superstars often get more benefit of doubt that other players.
I havenāt seen more than stills of the Messi incident to be fair, but watching replays of the Balogun incident - as worried as I am as a USA citizen and fan, and as little intent as I think there was, I think if say an Arsenal player had tackled Salah like that I would be livid if a red wasnāt given.
You donāt have to imagine it. It already happened to Macca.
Also the Kane incident didnāt trigger the ref being sent up to VAR for a review

I once made a curry and misread the amount of nutmeg as table spoons instead of teaspoons. That has some interesting effects as well.
