FIFA World Cup 2026 - USA/Canada/Mexico (Part 2)

Premier League fans need to be organizing now to pushback against these drinks breaks. Someone will try and brink it in to the PL.

Mass walkouts would be effective.

It’s colder there than England and less than 5 minutes since the last drink - they are going to be sloshing around the pitch with water retention (sponsored by Powerade )

Is this the first game to have two hydration breaks in the same half?

Probably more on cancelling TV subscription as those are for TV commercials.

Boooooooo! Bloody hydration break, my arse. They were all drinking during the bumpy head protocol.

I expect that they have to wait for the TV networks to give the signal that they have finished advertising burgers, or shit beer, or machine guns, or whatever it is that the yanks are flogging.

What is this weird commentary on the BBC ?
Do they always stray in that much dead trivia ?

Ghana are playing like Stoke on a wet Tuesday night in Boston.

Do both. Fans visibily walking out would be a horrible look, while subscription cancellations hurt the pocket.

If they get away with one commercial break, why not test the waters

Maybe we should have a quick shot during this hydration break—then at least it’ll be a bit of fun.

Ponderous - that was the word I was looking for.

And to add Slot for special effect. Nice.

Like a drive-by shooting?

Just turn on the sprinklers once a half and they will all be plenty hydrated :sweat_droplets:

In Braveheart, Richard the Lionhart quips ā€œthe trouble with Scotland is that it is full of Scotsā€.

I feel TV broadcasters, especially at this World Cup, have a similar opinion to him. ā€œThe trouble with football, is all the footballā€.

They did cancel the hydration break in the France / Iraq match Inn the 2nd half. They had plenty of water to go around after the 2 hours delay.

It’s surprising that there’s already a GIF.

Honestly, England is struggling to create any real chances. The stuff they have had so far, has been from Ghanian mistakes.

Ghana has chosen the correct strategy. A boring strategy, but an understandable one and they are currently executing it very well. So far, I am much more impressed with Ghana than England (because England has a far stronger team).

This referee is really p*ssing me off!

The times Ghana has been out of balance and been vulnerable to good English counters, well, it hasn’t been often.

Probably they will tire in the second half, but for now, very impressive by Ghana.
