Fuck knows why. It’s one of the most infuriating things about the game in South Africa. It’s a football mad country, the kids play everywhere with anything they can make do with. Some of the skills around are electric, completely natural, at ease and in vast quantity. Then they get up to professional level and it’s all coached and squeezed out either for physicality or conformity.

When this group of players play a bit quicker, for example, they look half decent but the handbrake is firmly engaged on them and in South African football as a whole.

If we do have to suffer through the shaky ref cam footage can’t they at least show the interesting bits before the match kicks off where they receive a brown envelope from a dodgy asian betting syndicate or petro state wealth fund :coin:
