press high and danger of being played through as well

I don’t think Spain allowed France to build any tempo in the game. Their midfield was immense.

Spain pressed high and still maintained a solid defence this tournament.

and this is why i think they might win it all

spain has had the best defence since day one of the tournament, england not so much.

Pressing with Mbappe? Don’t think its possible.

Fixed that for you

Still a team which pressed high.

Like a really well drilled Pep’s Barcelona side.

It’s just that their attacking play is tedious and rather boring. Kills the energy out of the game for the neutrals

spain nullified france play makers and made them look ordinary. england has like one play maker, maybe 2 if you count kane.

Interesting result. I suspected that France’s form in the tournament was coming a bit early. They have been found out tonight because their frontline was silenced all game, so well done to Spain.

At least he’s young he’ll get his chance but on the other hand experienced CH Konate didn’t get a kick. I turned to my son and said to him that Spain will target Digne because he is shite along with Rabiot, that was Deschamps greatest failing too loyal and another is Fernandez. He has a good bench they looked lopsided with those three in the team.

so we anticipate a lot of diving then

Indeed. They looked like they were always outnumbering France, both with and without the ball.

And the decision making of those Spanish midfielders, as well as obviously the ability…it’s something else. They must do something other countries don’t do, in the way they educate them. Incredible.

They needed more midfielders today than attackers. France have been playing with a lopsided team the entire tournament. They got away with what they had so far because everyone was scared of them and obviously their extravagant talents but today they faced a team that can keep possession and expertly throttle the pass from the defensive players to the forward players. And they should’ve dealt with them with a balanced team of their own, but they didn’t do that. And paid the price.

It’s also the first Spanish side that didn’t have any real Madrid players in it.

Make of it what you will. I think the coach selected players who fit in with his system.

Spain always look understated but all their players never waste a passe but the French players didn’t play as a team too ma n’y touches of the ball,
