I guess I am a traditionalist when it comes to this game. But for me, third place matters a lot. A medal in elite sports, a medal matters a hell of a lot. And particularly a traditional one.
But others are entitled to their opinion without being insulted.

Yes but getting the medal in most sports or Athletics is part of the main event rather than an after show.
BTW even though I don’t think it should be played I can still enjoy watching.
Also, the difference for me is there is a massive difference between now and 1937 in the amount of games and competitions the players play in.
I would be even more in my grievance if any Liverpool players were still there, rather than on their Holibobs
