He was a frustrating player but Iā€™ve definitely still got a soft spot for Ryan Babel. No idea how good he is at rapping - Iā€™m guessing awful - but I think Iā€™d give it a go.

Before reading the article, I knew what he would say. So after reading it, Iā€™m not surprised.

During his time here, felt a bit tired of his moaning about wanting to play up top. Wasnā€™t great even off the left (used to do the same one or two things each time), where there was more room for game time (we were bloody screaming for wingers back then), let alone trying to backup or replicate the outstanding work Torres did as a lone striker. Had some decent periods, scored some good/important goals, but it was never consistent enough to remain in the side as an important player. Never looked like it.

Sure, Rafa is of certain style and approach, heā€™s not the best fit for every (young) player out there. But, so what? A player can also adapt, look at himself, not depend so much on love from the gaffer, etc.

Overrated talent Iā€™d say. Couldā€™ve had a better career, but not so much better I donā€™t think. I think heā€™s another one of those ā€œif only he had a better headā€, but hey, head is pretty damn important! So Iā€™d say that we also didnā€™t do great with out homework either. Probably just not the best fit to leave Ajax so early to play as a wide player in Benitezā€™s compact formation.

There are a lot of ā€˜talentsā€™ from Holland, Iā€™m not saying he didnā€™t have talent, there were probably good enough reasons for a club like Liverpool then to buy him, but then I believe there are also pretty good reasons why he never again played for a club of such calibre. He ended up in UAE when he had his peak years.

That guy is simply not my cup of tea, never was. The 3 and a half seasons he had, he had enough chances Iā€™d say, more than enough. There are reasons why someone like Kuyt changed his position because he failed a little bit as the signing Torres turned out to be a year later. Babel just moaned about wanting to play more and more central, wanting more love and we got almost always the same from him on the pitch. Iā€™m sorry but I canā€™t warm to that.

Loved his song, to the Heartbeat theme. When I was around 8 years, I was getting a walkman for Christmas and my ma asked me to write a letter to Santa with the albums I wanted. For some inexplicable reason, I requested the Heartbeat theme.

Excellent little player anyway. Enjoy retirement, Fiera.

When was this? He was linked with Barca when leaving usā€¦

I remember reading that his transfer to Milan was all but done at some point - and then he went on to sign a new contract not long after that. I remember being very happy about it but his career at Liverpool didnā€™t turn out the way any of us wantedā€¦

Perth Glory owner Tony Sage says that it was Daniel Sturridgeā€™s decision not to play against Western United yesterday. Sage said Sturridge ā€œisnā€™t used to the 4 hour flightsā€ and felt he couldnā€™t contribute. [@SENWestAus]

Wtf.

Everywhere is at least a 4 hr flight from Perth
