This one is a bitch (pardon my expression), it makes you bleed inside but it’s so, so, silky, even enchanting.

The Cranberries were nominated by ILLOK above. Dreams positioned at number 53. There is only Janis Joplin that has individually had more likes though. Which to me is surprising, but also shows you are in good company upon the site lftikar :+1:

From what I understand that’s not quite true many of the songs pushed the ladies voices to the limit. The arrangements were quite difficult. ABBA were/are so famous the world over there’s many ‘documentaries’ and much stuff written about them, it is true they were ‘selected’ for the ‘timbre’ of their voices there appears to be a goal behind what they did.

I don’t want to debate this in this thread. Not going to use this thread, which is about gifted female singers, to argue that certain singers were less important and so on in long discussion.
But they had no bearing on the music composed and with ABBA, what’s very special with them, is the very intelligent composition, perfectly cast to the singer’s voices. But that’s my view.

@GermanRed immediately thought of that Cyrus rendition of Jolene when I saw the thread title.

Good choice.

Well if it not about singing but composing lot’s above would not have a chance but here’s one that should cover all. (Oh! and btw I wasn’t looking to argue just wanted to say I wasn’t convinced a ‘smaller’ voice would have done the trick. We are all friends (just occassionally best of enemies and it’s XMas).
