Yeah, his 5 titles in a row at Juve in his first stint are historic. Critical context though is that it was with a team that already won the previous 3 before he got there, and would win the next one after he left. He was seemingly the right guy for the job in that he lowered the temperature in a way that was surely needed to sustain the success that Conte first brought them, and showed a lot of tactical versatility along the way. But ultimately he is a manager whose first thought when considering how to improve is “buy me new players” and the limitation of that strategy is ultimately why he left first time and why his return didnt work out.

Undermine their current manager while flirting with a manager who has had success but some time ago.

The new owners might be aware that the only league they might win is the Championship. They need to get relgated to do that though.

So is the postponement a blessing or a curse now. We may not get kicked to pieces now and not have to face the flat back 10 system he used. Likewise the may get a half competent manager now.
Timing is not great. Their next three matches are not easy, and two of them are at Goodison.

The thing is we would probably face more issues against Dyche than a competent manager. He’s been there for ages and so the system will be much in place.

Yeah, that was my immediate thought as well - but then it dawned on me that this could mean that another PL club would be able to appoint him. I’d rather face an Everton (or any other) side that wants to take the game to Liverpool than the one that sits back, pounces on errors to start counter-attacks or relies on set-pieces.
Odd they waited until after Potter was hired to do this - when you’d think he would be quite high on any wanted lists for mid-table or lower PL teams.

Not sure what club would appoint him at this moment.
All those I can think of have appointed new bosses, could be more likely to find himself at a Championship club.
