Bitters probably got a huge chunk of luck there.
1 unfortunate deflection for their first goal
1 bowler from the Fulham keeper
Atleast 2 very good saves by Prickford.
1 penalty not given by the referee to Fulham
Jammy cunts.
There was an interview with Duncan Ferguson in the Guardian. I went to Google something about him. Obviously has hidden depths that we didn’t know about. (F***ing AI!)
This, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, is why one should not rely on AI.
Intelligence my arse.
Yep. Cue AI melding every single Ferguson into this Duncan super scot. I believe he is also an award winning documentary maker and populariser of the term, now out of fashion, ‘Chimerica’. Not to mention a comic popular in the US and a former manager famous for his watch talking and gum chewing.
Goodison will live on!
Bugger..that’s our extra carparking gone…
I’m quite happy that it is remaining. I do have the nagging feeling that it’s because it would cost more to demolish it.
The upkeep of a stadium isn’t cheap either
The Womens team and younth teams will play there, but it won’t ever be full (i.e. generating income). Just under 40,000 seats, the women’s current home has a capacity of just over 2,000 seats, with an avg attendance of a few hundred this season.
Maybe the owners will look to use it for other entertainment shows - we’ve had comedy for a long time there, so maybe some music?
How cost effective is it to keep a tin shed?
They could ask the fanbase to knock some of the ground down on the weekend to save them a bob or two.
I assume this is why they announced it today ![]()
Actually, weren’t they planning on flogging the seats off?
Probably change their mind on Monday about this ![]()
It’s good that the stadium remains.
Looks like they want to have a backup stadium in case the stench at the New one is too much.
Keeping a crumbling old stadium with a 40000 capacity going just to host a team that gets a “crowd” of less than 2000 seems like a recipe for disaster to me. They must surely be waiting for the right development opportunity to present itself and when it does, the bulldozers will be let loose.
That seems a bizarre decision to me. Keeping an aging asset that will or now needs considerable upkeep and maintenance costs gor the womens side that wont fully utilise it seems very short sighted.
Actually thinking about it if you do the bare minimum maintenance wise you vould probably keep it working for little cost for a year or two to buy themselves time.
Yeah I have a feeling it’s not a long term thing. Apparently they are going lower the attendance anyhow so that means certain stands will be removed.
Might well be worth it to see if Liverpool FC’s women’s team can do a ground share with them.
Why not? It’s a really good idea. Get over the fact that it’s Goodison Park - it’s a decent football stadium right in the heart of the city. Better than playing in Preston.
What the hell?
