I believe that everything happens for a reason and that Van Dijk was bound to get injured at some point (as did Alisson) because it wasn’t realistic that Liverpool will have something nice without it breaking - I just didn’t expect it to break at the feet of a thug with previous record of such malicious tackles. I’ve always had some respect for Everton because it’s a historic club and because of their support for Hillsborough campaign but this game did it for me - regardless of who the manager or the owner is, you can always bet that their team’s two most vicious and energetic performances come against Liverpool.
Sure, Liverpool have a history of being physical against them, especially in Rafa’s days, but what Everton players have done since Klopp’s appointment is simply disgraceful. They had a hand in Liverpool not wining the title in 2019 and it will most likely happen again this season. Pickford’s biggest career achievement is that, doing his best to end the career of world’s best defender. I hope Liverpool players never stoop this low against their city rivals.
Carlo Ancelotti on Jordan Pickford challenge on Virgil van Dijk: “To be clear, we are really sorry for the injury of Virgil van Dijk. Jordan arrived a little bit later but his intention was to try to reach the ball. It was not to hurt Virgil van Dijk.”
“To say it was premeditated, and this and that, in my opinion, is too much. Virgil van Dijk knows this. Jordan is really sad, really disappointed (that he is injured).
Ancelotti says James Rodriguez will miss the Southampton game. “Unfortunately, James had a problem during the game [v Liverpool]. He had a mistimed tackle with Virgil van Dijk at the beginning of the game and he will not be available for the game against Southampton."
Yes, a knee high flying scythe is after the ball. Ancelotti knows full well that Pickford went in to do damage. I’m not expecting him to throw him under the bus but fuck off.
Any Reds in any doubt that Ancelotti is a fucking fat, greasy, spud-faced cunt, and there are plenty of them on here and elsewhere, should consider this absolute horseshit about James.
Amazing he played the whole game considering it must have happened in the first 5 minutes isn’t it?
And of course the narrative now amongst the bitter scum is VVD got what he deserved for trying to injure their players.
They’ve been so shit for the past few years it stopped being funny. This has all acted as a focus as to why I despise them and watching their inevitable slide down the table will be a fucking joy to behold.
And he’s your dad? If he was my dad, there would be a massive falling out, I couldn’t be in the same room as him. I can’t discuss anything football related with Blueshite, it always descends into a a heated argument. I can’t stand them.
Two brothers and dad are Everton supporters so I have learnt to bite my tongue (Extended family still literally live <100m from Goodison)
So lived with it my whole life. Luckily my Grandad has more sense and took me to my first game at Anfield. So dodged a bullet of 30 years of tedious football and bitterness.
What Carlo failed to do is accept that Pickford was brain dead when considering the impact of his actions. He may not have sought to injure him in the heat of the moment, but he was wreckless, with no consideration of the impact on his opponent. But all is fine because Pickford is sad…
As for the cry arsing about Virgil’s early tackles - they were a touch late and forceful, but at no point were they going to be season enders, or risking injuries to opponents.
Did Carlo have much to say about Richarilson? Assuming not.
You’re a better man than me. That’s my problem, I can’t bite my tongue. Also, you forgot to mention 30 yrs of failure and jealousy.
I know the area around ‘Woodison’ very well, I used to work in the north end of the city.
Yeah so sorry it’s taken them almost a week to come out with a public apology and even then Pickford had to get Ancelotti to do his dirty work.
More BS to cover up the dirty bastards tackles on VVD and Thiago,if VVD’s tackle was that bad on James that early in the game,he would have come off for one, secondly everyone knows he’s as injury prone as Matip and can’t string more than 3 games together without pulling a sickie,so he’s making out VVD is just as bad as Pickford in terms of tackling/injuring players and using it as an excuse aswell, talk about an underhanded snide cunt.
