He sort of froze out Dwight McNeil mind.
Did he? I hadn’t noticed (or have since forgotten). Could add some fireworks! Mind, it seems Lampard froze out at least 3 of their players which is probably what led to him being fired.
It would be a laugh if Newcastle back out of the Gordon deal. Although, wasn’t it Gordon their fans chased down the road after the Brighton loss? He’s a cunt, no doubt, but fair enough if he wants out asap. Who wouldn’t.
I just noted he seemed to be a bench option in the last season he was there.
Unless there was an injury he never regained his place from.
Lampard is not a premier league manager and so I get the discussion, but the thing that gets overlooked so often with the focus on Lamps’ failings is that the squad is fucking shit. They are where you’d expect them to be with a quick look at the players they have available. They have some competent defenders. Can put together a midfield that is combative, but that is really about all you can say positively about this group. At one point DCL looked to be valuable and I think his absence really hurt them last season, but he’s now going on 2 years since he was a reliable source of goals and difficult to play against.
I think the lack of goalscoring threat upfront is defintiely a problem for them. It will be interesting to see if they can do something about that. You could imagine Dyche tightening up defence and midfield quite easily - but his last season at Burnley saw them struggle to score too and they don’t appear to have much time to get someone in before the Window closes.
It’s amusing that Everton made this move a week or so too late to get Chris Wood on loan from Newcastle. It will be even more so to watch him sit on the bench every week for Forest when he’d be a key piece for Dyche’s Everton.
I was just thinking of Chris Wood and wondering whether he would be available - I’d forgotten he had gone to Forest.
Yeah, plus, his performances dropped and the end product was always missing (something Howe will certainly want to improve on him, maybe playing in a more attacking side helps). Everton actually got better performances from the likes of Gray and Iwobi (albeit in a more different position). I still like Gordon’s potential, we’ll see how far he goes. But Everton have got other, more important issues now and it’s perhaps best to cash in.
I read a comment from a Blueshite fan in the last few days that stated he had seen Gordon in town, standing with his speedos on next to Tom Daly…!
Not exactly sure what he was insinuating… but I’ve got a feeling with that baying mob of a fanbase Gordon would be best to stay away from Liverpool until the heat subsides from them claiming he has deserted a sinking ship…!!
Insinuating that he’s a diving twat?
If Blueshite fans feel like he’s not been giving it his all, as a local lad, of course he’s going to get stick, nothing wrong with that…truth is he’s just another average English hype job who’s never been any good and never will be any good.
I never thought he was out of this world…and yes…I think he does think he’s Tom Daley.
He’s terrible…any footballer with a bit of pace and doesn’t treat a football like a time bomb can be a Anthony Gordon.
Reminds me of a poor mans Gerard Deulofeu.
One Ginge in - One Ginge out
Sure they weren’t insinuating he was gay?
I have seen the rumours about two others, whole fan base is toxic. That’s the biggest thing Dyche needs to change if Arsenal goes south and they rock up and we somehow get on top it could start to become even worse.
Dyche makes a lot of sense to the Toffees just now, he might keep them up, but if he doesn’t he may well get them straight back.He did alright with Burnley…apart from last season.
