International Football

Croatia’s first win with Bilic back at the helm away against the Czechs and Modric still going strong, who scored his 30th goal in his 203rd cap for us, aged 41.

Class act. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Probably didn’t know what he was signing on there.

Just got a general question, are we having a longer internationl break than usual? I remember international breaks usually last 2 weeks and only affect fixtures of one weekend. This break is 3 weeks and affecting 2 weekends worth of fixtures?

Yes, the new FIFA calander which came in this season they have merged the first 2 international windows into 1, but had it start later. Usually the firt 1 would be August/September but by merging the 2, it ment more games in the league and in Europe so gave clubs more time to get a settled team and cohession before everyone fucked off to play for their countries

ah ok, thanks!

I think they should probably merge November with March. They aren’t going anywhere and I think I prefer this to how it was which all seemed a little stop start. The other sports need to plan their calenders better, at least we’ve got the darts this week for any dead days.

I have to gloat early as the mighty Aussies lead Brazil 2-1….and playing well.

No Ali??

Vini and Gabriel are still dickheads.

Probably won’t stay 2-1 but encouraging.

Are they having some sort of test series against them as they played them last week.

It’s a good idea by QLD Govt to hold 2 matches in Townsville and Brissy. It’s a long way for one match.

Anyway as I said above it’s now 4-2 Brazil thanks to 2 pens. Some real dickheadery from I think Endrick in a melee acting like he was shot.

It makes sense in general

Ali is currently on vacation in Italy with his wife; he wasn’t selected this time, as the plan is to test “up-and-coming talent.”

Lamine Yamal is full of magic again. 2 goals and an assist.

Kerkez grabbed the player by the throat I think.

Spain are brilliant, yeah.

They can make changes, you might think you get them on a slightly weaker day and they can still provide top quality levels. Cohesion and understanding between players is almost in a league on it’s own.

Unbeaten in 40 straight games now, that is just ridiculous.

Spanish football overall is far from dead, if there were some idiots that thought it was the case a few years ago. It’s very much alive (and kicking!).

The Hungarian president (or ex) is a bit pro Russia I think.

I don’t know why they call these matches friendlies?
