He could perhaps step in as interim coach, only until the summer, or until we find someone suitable who is available.
Could he not be an Interim with SG…
I thought in the most recent interview, Kloppo said that he did not miss managing at all, plus the non-stop and tiresome pre- and post- match interviews.
But he also said that if you need help, I’m here.
I agree with him. Wayy too many interviews with wayy too many frankly idiotic and irrelevant questions.
Like day before yesterday someone was continuing to ask Maresca about how Palmer stubbed his toe and broke it?
Motherfucker, does it matter? He broke it and now it’s on the mend. Move the fuck on. You want Enzo to re-enact it for you?
Being a manager exhausted Klopp. We don’t need a manager. We need an head coach. That’s less workload.
Strangely enough, in the recent interviews (actually, quite a few of them), Slot calls himself a manager of the club, and not a coach.
With Jürgen, he had way too many interviews and guest speaking shows. Marc Lawrenson said that everyone wanted a piece of Jürgen and he was overloaded, exhausted he was so busy. No wonder he resigned. He had that larger than life personality and charisma which everyone wanted.
King Kenny came back but it didn’t turn out the way it did.
Klopp is an emotional person and it is the emotions that are the most draining and with the passing of Jota, I am glad that Jurgen wasn’t there.
As a mentor yes, but I don’t think he wants to return to the stresses of managing/coaching in the Premiere League.
We are abit unfortunate at the moment, with the lack of quality of experienced managers available at this moment in time.
If we lose against West Ham this week, then Arne’s job is untenable.
Is Milly still playing or is he injured…we could give him a part time job…
The thing with AS, he has been here well over 12months, but to me, he is still somewhat of a closed book. Personality wise, I have no clue what type of one he has… I just hope he has enough of one to drag us out of this rut…
I love Klopp but I don’t want to go back. Not even as an interim. What he did at Liverpool, and the esteem in which he is held, is locked in. I’m of the school of thought that says don’t go back.
I think Klopp has one more football job in him, and that is as Germany manager, after Nagelsmann.
Are we seriously comparing accepting a job as a pundit for a month next summer and being a coach?
I’ve no doubt Klopp could turn things around as an interim but there’s no way he’d be a long term option. That ship has sailed, and what a brilliant voyage it was
I think this is still affecting us, its not jsut the current incumbents, its still to a degree the hole left by this guy. Immense presence, he filled the club, and as @Maria points out rightly above, he was in everything and touched everyone at the club. We’ve crumbled and this could be a big part of it. I bet even the canteen staff are spilling sugar.
I would get on my hands and knees and crawl through broken glass and thumbtacks to have this man back, he meant everything. He means everything.
I believe it too, I don’t think some of us fans, the club staff and players were fully over his departure from the club and city. Jürgen said he wasn’t a miracle worker. He certainly changed our way thinking from being ‘doubters to believers’.
Arne winning the league helped abit, but still there were improvements to be made. The loss of Jota, Diaz, Trent and Nunez didn’t help.
I’d prefer not to see Slot catapulted out of his seat unless we hit the relegation trap door, or it becomes common knowledge he just can’t get the best out of the players at his disposal due to a poor communications personality, or crap footballing acumen.
This is a guy that brought home number 20 for us… To have done that, he obviously did a lot of good stuff. Although, having said that, not only are we quickly drifting toward shit creek, but we are starting to take on water at a rate that will eventually capsize us.
It is to be remembered, this is predominately Jurgen’s legacy of building our club back to elite status, that is now slowly, and cruelly being fragmented… If only there was a way to bring the big guy back in some sort of ambassadorial/advisory role, to impart his wit, wisdom and strength of personality to everything connected to LFC.
Helping lift the burden of impending failure from shoulders of AS, by being available to join forces in a part-time capacity, or on-call if needed, might just be the boost AS himself needs to continue building what he has begun.
Pipe dream maybe, but I just hope, FSG have a contingency plan at the ready to implement before their entire project has a chance to implode, and sink the lot of us back to mediocrity.
Yes, the mass exodus took a part of it with them, left a gaping hole, in which then Jota died. Bring in half a team of new faces. Its almost needs spiritual assistance, whatever that was is truly shattered.
