Jürgen… don’t do it. It will ruin your sanity. You will look 100 years old after 2 months.
I still believe there is one job he will do and that is the national job in Germany. I don’t think anything else will get him back. Perhaps if us, Mainz or Dortmund needed a short term rescue mission but I just think he feels he has it good right now.
That’s my take too. The Germany job will be his last big thing.
I can’t see him wanting the day to day hassle of a huge club like Real Madrid. Playing Devil’s advocate, arguably he goes in as sort of a father figure, and with his world-class man management skills he gets them all pulling in the same direction and working for one another. It’s not a rebuild or anything arduous like that. Just Jurgen being Jurgen, and potentially being exactly what they need.
Mind you, can’t stand them and I hope it doesn’t happen.
Klopp has been linked with the role (Real Madrid Manager) himself, but provided an emphatic response when asked about the possibility of taking over at the Bernabeu on Servus TV On not long after the news of Alonso’s exit.
“There were definitely a few people who felt they had to contact me directly about it,” Klopp said per GOAL.
“First of all, I think it’s another sign that something isn’t quite right there at the moment.”
The German added: “But this has absolutely nothing to do with me, and it didn’t trigger anything for me either, which would probably have been the follow-up question.
“I was surprised, that’s true – genuinely surprised. Then a few people messaged me, and I replied with various emojis.”
Would love to know what kinds of emojis Kloppo used.
Wouldn’t worry I think I’ve got more chance of winning the darts world championship than Florian has of ever being right.
If he did take the job it wouldn’t alter my view of him. He was right to walk away from Liverpool, you only need to look at him now to see how fucked up he was. The LFC managers job does that to you.
That said it would appear to fly in the face of his ethics/morals or whatever you want to call them but people can change…
Oh I have no issue, I just think it’s just bollocks and I really don’t expect it plus Florian has a really poor rate.
I don’t think it’s entirely bollocks. I think Jurgen would like to see what it’s like to work with a seemingly unlimited bankroll, like his buddy Pep Guardiola.
I just think he’d grow tired of managing all of the egos there. Klopp - like Alonso - has always been about hard work and ruthless aggression and team-first play. I imagine Jurgen would run into the same issues as Alonso in trying to push those guys to work hard, and he wouldn’t have the same cachet Alonso has as a former Madrid player. It just doesn’t seem like a good fit for either side.
nah its a horrible fit.
having said that…Real Madrid, for all of their sins, are a proper traditional big club, the biggest…its not like they are the imaginings of a soft drink company or something ridiculous like that…
I’ve read that Jurgen has already put himself out of consideration
???
He explicitly cited it as a reason he turned United down.
He’s retired from management, folks.
The bankroll wasn’t the issue at United - it was more of the overall structure there and his discomfort with it. He said that it wouldn’t have been “his” project if he went there - he didn’t just want to sign all of the best players, but those who fit with his vision. But having unlimited money to buy the players who fit his vision - I’m sure he wouldn’t complain about that.
And he’s never said he’s retired from management permanently. He said he’d never coach another team in England, and he even left the door ajar to coming back to Liverpool in the future, if he’s prepared to give it all to do it again.
My longtime prediction has been - and remains - that his next gig was going to be managing the German National Team once Nagelsmann leaves.
Of course we won’t know until the future but I don’t ever expect to see him at Madrid unless he is skint. And I think this Red Bull thing pays him more than enough.
I turn on sky sports and it goes from Guehi-to-City deal straight to Jürgen flogging Trivago…stop teasing me Kloppo!
These reporters won’t leave Jürgen alone without asking about Real Madrid.
Where’s our Europa League to counter their European Cup Winners’ Cup?
