Is it set in the present day and is there nice scenery in it?
Maria, give it a try. I’ve seen it twice now. Yellowstone is set in the present day and, of course, includes beautiful nature shots. Most of the men there are also quite attractive tbf
.
Yes, it is set in the present day and there is lovely scenery. They flash back on occasion to give some backstory from years ago, but for the most part it is here and now. Massive ranch. The Dutton family is trying to keep hold of it. Developers are encroaching. Politics is a factor. Cowboys work for him. It’s a good drama. I don’t usually watch that sort of stuff, Mrs ROTW got me watching, and I have to say I thought it was really good.
They did two spin-off prequel series that showed how the family got to where it is in modern day Yellowstone. 1883 showed how they first settled. 1923 showed how they had the ranch and even back then were fighting to keep it. Actors like Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren and Timothy Dalton, and others, give the prequels some real cachet.
Jürgen is at the Olympics now, watching biathlon and ringing the bell for the last lap ![]()
“why is Jürgen Klopp ringing the bell at the men’s biathlon?”
Because he’s more famous than you, Tom!
I have really enjoyed seeing Jurgen’s adventures since he left. He is looking younger and less stressed, and it’s nice seeing him pop up at the pyramids in Egypt, or as a character from Yellowstone, or ringing the bell at the Winter Olympics, or playing padel, or chilling on a beach, etc.
He is living his best life and looks to be enjoying himself. I miss him, but I’m really happy for him.
If there is another football job left in him, that he wants to do, I can’t see beyond Germany manager. When the stars align. I can’t see him wanting the day to day hassle of a big club after enjoying life as a ‘free’ man. But I can see him getting the itch again, and a stint as the German national boss might be just the thing.
Oh, one thing I don’t like very much (and I’m very old fashioned with this stuff) are those Trivago adverts. I was sitting here mindlessly scrolling along, TV on in the background, and I saw Jurgen’s face. I thought it might be something interesting but nope, it was a Trivago advert. I’m sure Jurgen is getting a few bob for it, so good luck to him, but I’m going to give that side of things a very Ebenezer Scrooge bah humbug. ![]()
Jurgen Klopp lands surprise role at Winter Olympics :
Jurgen Klopp has bagged himself a job at the Winter Olympics after being starstruck by one of its athletes years ago.
The legendary ex-Liverpool manager will ring the bell for the final lap of the men’s biathlon relay - an event which combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting - on Tuesday afternoon.
Klopp fell in love with the biathlon growing up in Germany’s Black Forest and is apparently a fan of the legendary former Norwegian biathlete Ole Einar Bjorndalen.
‘I’m a fan of everything,’ Klopp said. 'I love all alpine skiing, I love all cross-country skiing disciplines, I love biathlon. It’s all just exciting.
'I understand some things better from watching them for years or from doing them myself. Other things I don’t understand at all. I have no idea how someone can bend down so low in curling, stay stable, and still push a kettle.
‘I was even asked if I would like to ring the bell before the last lap. My first question was: What is that? We will be there; it’s my first live race.’

It’s that or the Peleton again ![]()
I haven’t seen the Pelaton advert, either it hasn’t made it here to the States yet, or I just haven’t noticed. Jurgen is of course entitled to use his profile and take some easy money, doing a few adverts. He’s a global figure so it’s there on a plate for him.
Absolutely. He deserves his rewards ![]()
I love all the adverts Jürgen is in especially the ‘Snickers’ chocolate bar advert and the Opal car advert, the German one, where the guy is guessing which club Jürgen is going. It is an old advert.
Jürgen deserves all the time away from football as long as he likes. He dedicated most of his life to football, sometimes to the detriment of his personal life. For instance, he missed his mum’s funeral during the Covid and long periods away from family home.
I would love Jürgen back at Liverpool, but not for him to sacrifice his health, happiness and sanity. Jürgen gave us so many wonderful memories which will stick with us until the end of our days and our children and grandchildren will hear these stories.
Jurgen definitely looks like he’s living his best life right now. Happy for the man. I hope whatever he does fulfills him.
Some memories…
So happy for him ![]()
