I’m finding it concerning that it’s gone so silent on Jacquet the past 7-10 days.
Seems like he was fully in training at the start of preseason, then it was he’s being managed with a plan to debut in the friendly vs Leeds, and now he wasn’t at all in the training back at the AXA today. Did his shoulder not heal properly after the surgery? Is it re-injured? Now all we’re hearing is about how close Leoni is to returning- sometime in September. 1 fit CB who’s 35 and has played max minutes. If they don’t want a “panic buy” situation you’d think they’d at least be looking into loans. Geez, what’s Oman Kayak up to these days? Re-sign Rhys Williams?

They probably are but i would guess loan market probably kicks off towards the end of the window as teams move closer to finalising their squads.

Just want to say I like the look on Iraola’s face above. He looks like he is enjoying himself as more of them are coming back together and he gets to work with a group that is closer to the real thing for when the season kicks off.

Does la liga start before anybody else? Mallorca who were relegated looked very fit against PSG they spanked them 3:0 Zabarnij and Mbay were playing.
Usually they start a week or two after the Premier League. Don’t know when the French league starts though.
Btw, they were relegated, so they’ll play in Segunda this season. Don’t know if that starts before La Liga.

I know the post above about all the goals Mamardashvili was conceding in training is fake, but it did get me thinking a bit, when coupled with the clip above.
Training is a fast-paced, small pitch, full-sized goals sort of thing, at which point it stands to reason that a lot of goals will go in. For top pros it’s like shooting fish in a barrel.
Get the game onto a full-sized pitch, with both sides properly set up, and the goalscoring chances drastically reduce, and the goalkeeper doesn’t look too bad!
As for Mamardashvili in particular, there are legitimate question marks over whether or not he is good enough to replace Alisson, and at that point we are going to find out one way or the other in the next year or two.
We won’t persevere with a sub par goalie in the first team for long, and I am hoping when the time comes he steps up and we don’t look back.

Since—as clearly shown in my last post—Mama was on the winning team, the constant bashing he’s getting right now is totally over the top. That would imply the others are even worse
