Liverpool FC - Pre-season

I think it’s pretty disrespectful for the lads to show up on their first day with hair.

And Arne not having a fresh shave, appearing like an egg.

Good to see Sepp and Fabio again. Hopefully Slot can work them into the squad and bring out the best in them.

What is the preseason schedule? Will the team camp in Austria/Germany this year too?

Which senior players have joined the camp?

Salah, Endo, Elliot, Jones, Qunasah, Carvalho, Bradley, Tsimikas and Kelleher are prob the main ones.

A lot of young uns around - Danns, Bajetic, Gordon, Mconnell, Koumas, Clark, Beck.

Morton, Phillips and van den Berg been in too.

What I’ve enjoyed of the footage so far is that things are looking pretty different.

From the three lots of footage I’ve seen, Slot is a lot more hands on, rather than leaving the drills etc to the coaching staff. There are different exercises and drills too - bit of power work, bit of shadow boxing.

Lactate test is gone. It will be interesting to see how the new medical/fitness bods shape the team to deal with the high workloads and number of games. From what we’ve read, Slot also likes an intense pressing style, therefore expect the fitness levels required to remain the same. Under Klopps time we did suffer a lot of muscle injuries…here’s hoping we don’t see an increase in that!

They all look buggered about October so anything that stops that will be a bonus.

I find it interesting that a lot of people online are classing Cavalho, Bradley and Qunasah as senior players but classing Bajetic as a youth player.

If it were not for injury, I think Bajetic would have been used as much if not more than Bradley and Qunasah and potentially would have not seen us sign Endo.

I think Bajcetic needs to prove himself again. There have been lots of players that looked like the next big thing, had an injury, and then couldn’t quite live up to their potential. For that reason he still appears as a youth prospect.
