Liverpool’s current injury list and suspensions

  • COVID-19

Fabinho, Curtis Jones and Virgil van Dijk have been unavailable since the clash with Newcastle United on December 16 after suspected positive COVID-19 test results.

Jürgen Klopp on December 17: “It’s not confirmed yet. It’s an ongoing process, let me say it like this, but they are not there. They are fine apart from that.”

Thiago Alcantara then missed the trip to Tottenham Hotspur on December 19 due to a suspected positive COVID-19 test result.

  • Illness

Jordan Henderson was absent for the 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on December 19 with a cold.

“Hendo has a cold. He’s the only one with proper symptoms but he has only a cold and we had to send him home,” said Jürgen Klopp on the day of the game.

  • Injuries

Divock Origi

Origi last appeared for the Reds on December 7 against AC Milan in the Champions League.

Jürgen Klopp on December 15: “Divock has a little issue.”

Nathaniel Phillips

Phillips is sidelined until January after fracturing a cheekbone as Liverpool beat AC Milan in their final game of the Champions League group stage.

Jürgen Klopp on December 10: “He has to be careful and make sure in the moment when he is allowed [to train fully], when the bone has healed, he will be in a good physical shape, so that’s great. How long it will take exactly, I don’t know. Four or five weeks, something like that. We will see.”

Harvey Elliott

Elliott suffered a serious ankle injury away at Leeds United on September 12.

Jürgen Klopp on November 26: “He’s running outside, full body weight – good sign, that’s all fine. When he will be back, I have no idea. He’s our long-term prospect and each day we can get him back earlier is great, but we will not rush that.”

Adrian

The goalkeeper is currently out with a calf injury.

Jürgen Klopp on December 3: “Adrian is injured in the moment, so Marcelo [Pitaluga] is now No.3.”

  • Suspensions

Andy Robertson is currently serving a three-match suspension following his red card against Tottenham Hotspur on December 19.
