Looks like Ajax have dropped Jaros instead of Pasveer (who will be 42 next month).

And just came off the bench to score on his debut.

Luke Chambers got his first assist, in his 2nd game, for Charlton as they beat Leicester 2-0 away.

Edit: Just watched it, turns a player and drives a brilliant cross in to the backpost right onto the striker’s toe.

If Chambers could stay fit he has PL potential. Just always injured.

I remember really liking him in one pre-season under Klopp a few years ago.

That’s the story of this cohort unfortunately. I’m surprised how little has been written about it. Just off the top of my head, we’ve also had Danns, Gordon, Bradley, Ramsay, and Bajcetic come through the academy and be beset by physical ailments related to their bodies not being able to cope with the workload.

He got specifically name checked as a big prospect by Pep and a couple of the players during pre-season when he was first exposed to the first team

Ah… Pep.

He was super excited over a few, so with time I learned not to give it that much weight. Still love him though.

:joy:

Is this just a bad roll of the dice or have we insufficiently prioritized physical attributes when bringing kids into/through the Academy?

Vitezslav Jaros has suffered a knee injury and will be sidelined for the foreseeable future

That really sucks he was doing pretty well there, I know he lost his place for a while but he had recently earned it back.
