2-0 Liverpool - Woodburn

Another excellent press in midfield as Jake Cain wins it back and Woodburn’s shot is deflected over the goalkeeper.

United’s Hannibal Mejbri (the one with the silly hair) is a really talented player but he also isn’t half as talented as he thinks he is.

I was just thinking the same, he’s been awful in this game. Feels like he thinks he deserves all the space in the world.

3-0 Liverpool - Bearne

Liverpool cut United apart again, getting in down the left as they have done all night. Woodburn and Bearne combine for another tap in.

I’ve seen him be excellent before (he dominated Utd’s U21 win over Salford last week) but he also always has that air of a player who thinks he can cruise through games on his talent. Like you say he’s been awful tonight, I can’t even count how often he has lost the ball.

3-1 Liverpool - Elanga (Man Utd)

Achilles heel of this team, set pieces. Goalkeeper doesn’t cover himself in glory, punches it onto Tom Clayton and it bounces back to Elanga standing on the goalline for a tap in.

4-1 Liverpool - Bearne

Larouci’s throw in gets Longstaff in behind (again down the left flank), great low cross and yet another tap in for Bearne.

What an enjoyable half of football that was. Young reds playing well and United lucky to only be 4-1 down.

The pressing has been very good, very organised. Might need a couple of subs in the second half to keep those energy levels up.

5-1 Liverpool - Longstaff

Terrible pass out by the goalkeeper, just gave it away to Longstaff who took a few touches - I thought he had wasted the chance - but was able to bend it into the goal around the 'keeper.

This goalkeeper has lost his head, close one between him and Hannibal as to who has been the most awful.

Bit of handbags after Liverpool make a mess of an indirect free kick. Di’Shon Bernard wasn’t happy with how Jack Bearne went in on him (and he had a point, he throws a knee in) eventually ends up with Woodburn and Bernard getting a but into a push and shove. Both yellow carded.

Another kick off - Clarkson with a ridiculous tackle is rightly sent off and Shola Shoretire is also sent off for pushing him to the ground in retaliation.

Classic Steve Hunter fuming over a push from an opposition player instead of a leg breaking tackle from one of ours.

He was lucky only to get pushed to be honest - horrible tackle. Almost feel like United should have been allowed one free shot at him to make up for it!

Yeah, it was a shocker, hopefully the last time we see that from Clarkson. Don’t want to see another Pelosi like injury.

5-2 Hannibal Mejbri

Just about the first thing he’s done right all night. Got away from Woodburn and was allowed to shoot from the edge of the box. Bit too easy really.

The quality in this game has disappeared since the red cards.

Any United fan watching this must be pulling their hair out listening to Hunter’s bias, even I am. Talking absolute shite constantly.

I’m just laughing at him saying “Utd players keep trying to start fights” when it’s Liverpool players who have instigated it every time!

5-3 McCann

Liverpool have been absolutely terrible since going to 10 men and Utd pull another back with a good run fr midfield and a tidy finish.

Full time 5-3 win for Liverpool.

Game was honestly hard to watch after the red cards, no quality at all, but Liverpool were excellent in the first half.

Clarkson, Woodburn, Bearne (x2) and Longstaff with the goals.
