if all files are investigated and it was discovered that extra payments were made to players etc.

TBH, proportional in this case would be killing the club and using some carpet to wrap up their owners. The PL can (and should) subject cheaty to such a harsh treatment that sends a clear message that for fucking with the sport like they have, there is no coming back.

The PL arenât constrained by needing to be proportionate, per se, but the Courts will require it should it go before them.
All of that is already part of the HMRC investigation. There will be prosecutions, Iâm certain.
The courts are not going to find any action taken by the PL - including kicking them out of the competition, stripping them of their titles (for the period in question only, unfortunately) and including clauses that if they ever return they face massive points penalties as disproportionate. What they have done is the equivalent of a serial rapist covering his tracks with murder of those trying to prosecute him; courts arenât going to find any sentence disproportionate.
@Kopstar , quick question , we all knew it was going to be dodgy when their owners came in, but given that they have now been found guilty by the premier league, does this mean that the PL can actually do anything about the situation of the owners , as clearly they have failed the fair and proper test of ownership?
Iâm surprised how little conversation there has been on the need for Abu Dhabi to sell. I know that is a monumental implication, I donât know how the league would go about enforcing it, but how do you rightly allow someone to keep owning a club who has acted like this?
Maybe the avenue is to say application to rejoin the prem will be contingent on new ownership

Yeah i agree, but considering the pl approved it, and the fact city according to the dates more or less means they started cheating straight awayâŚsurely they should look at this and decide, that they are actually unfit owners.

Also if i was the premier league, i would state that âŚ(insert harshest punishment )and if you appeal this , then we double the previous punishment much like when a club appeals a red card.

The new stadium and academy facilities should go to running the English FAâs center of excellence etc. not to the reborn club and definitely not to an existing club.
City split the construction cost with city council more or less down the middle. They have also been responsible for 100% of the operating and maintenance expenses from the day the 02 Commonwealth games ended and the transformation into a football stadium began.
If city as a club disband the city council will presumably have to inherit the stadium and the maintenance costs that come with it. More problematic though is Iâm sure there is currently a big infrastructure project being done and they council would not want to take on the cost of finishing it but would cost them money to stop it and remedy it
