This feels what will happen.
They won’t be hit by a club ending fine and points deduction but if they lose to us them losing 21pts say won’t bother them.

i wonder if on a blance sheet they still come out infront, once you factor in the political influence in the area etc etc…
as in, at what point do they get out and leave the shell oif a club and call it a successful operation?
i very much doubt they need to sell it for 10 squillion pounds, they have the prestige, the track record and whatever value remains in the players and youth set up…
they could claim it was all a racist conspiracy and head over to …say…Girona … and do it all over again in a league that has more growth oppurtunities…

im imagining if they got relegated, and took a hit on the value of the club as they exited, they still will have achieved what they set out to do, and made a packet on the side…

Yeah the point is to swap oil revenues for soft power. They don’t care about making a financial return - it’s stuff like having their country seen in a positive light; getting a seat at the table and being able to ultimately use the club as leverage that they want. A successful club buys them access. There’s an interesting angle that, while they may be prepared to use some political capital trying to make this all go away and retain the cheaty ‘brand’, if it is too costly reputationally to wash the stain away then they would surely walk away. Unfortunately I can’t see anything even close to enough pressure being applied for this to happen.

I wonder if this action is limited to PL clubs, or whether those teams that were relegated during those years, and are still in the lower leagues, can also take the same action? They would be the clubs to benefit most from lost income.
