As an aside, I like how quiet Hughes is being about it all. Apparently he has not made any public statements about anything since the day Slot was announced. Too many DoFs think they are the club and want people to know how smart they are with the decisions they are making. While there is maybe some benefit to a DoF being public in situations like this to take pressure off the manager from fielding these questions, Slot seemingly doesn’t need that with the way he handles the media.

He’s also not spouting off about the work he did at Bournemouth that’s not only helped solidify them as a Premier League side but also sees them outperforming teams with substantially bigger budgets and reputations.
Just need to see him work some magic here as this coming summer is going to be an interesting one for sure.
