“Your mentality is second to none and a lot of people could take note”
Anyone in particular, Andy?
There’s no reason he can’t be successful in one of the bigger European leagues, where the football is more suited to his game (particularly this season with the focus in the PL shifting to set pieces and low blocks). I kind of hope he does hang around in Europe.
I think a lot of things have played into the drop off this year; age, changes in team (in and out) along with a change of style by Slot that doesn’t suit/hasn’t clicked, general form of the entire team, injuries to the team, PL style changes, and the impact of Diogo’s death on him, noting he referenced it in his social media video post.
In the end, I’m glad he’s getting to leave and get a send off along the way. Hopefully it galvanises the team and we can win some silverware.
Mo:
"Hello everyone, unfortunately the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.
"I wanted to start by saying that I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people would become part of my life.
"Liverpool is not just a football club, it’s a passion, it’s a history, it’s a spirit. I can’t explain in words to anyone not part of this club.
"We celebrated victory, we won the most important trophies and we fought together through the hardest time in our life.
"I want to thank everyone who was part of this club throughout my time here, especially the teammates past and present.
"And to the fans, I don’t have enough words. The support you showed me through the best time of my career and you stood by me in the toughest times. It’s something I will never forget and something I will take with me always.
"Leaving is never easy. You gave me the best time of my life. I will be always one of you.
"This club will always be my home to me and to my family.
"Thank you for everything.
“Because of all of you, I will never walk alone.”

Glen Hysen
In the spirit of TAN pedantry, it was Glenn ![]()
But yeah he lost his knees in one season.
Equally I can guess that the caveat in their agreement to let him go on a free is that he doesn’t sign for a PL club.
Was that season the summer he joined us?
Cant remember, I know he came in 89 to replace Hansen, looked the part initially.
I never could take to him, as a result all I seen was someone not good enough for us.
I remember he was awesome for at least the first season with us, and had thought it was the start of his second season that his decline had started but a quick check of his stats show he was playing regularly until around April 91 when he barely played again for us until he left a year later.
I blame David Burrows ![]()
Same problem isnt it, after a legend leaves its always a disappointment, Hysen replaced Hansen. In which case we have huge ones incoming and ongoing!
Wait until we dont have big Virg in the far left back corner…in fact, its shit this is.
To see Klopps legendary team slowly dismantled without replacement is a Home Bargains level of stock clearance.
Finally, the One-Season Wonder ends, after nine seasons.

yes, but apart from all that…what has Mo Salah ever done for us?..
Interesting when I look back, apart from his penalty in Madrid (and the Community Shield, another penalty, though not a major trophy), he never scored again in a final for us.
He completed 694 (784 if you include the CS) minutes in finals for us, also a bit unlucky as he had to come off twice after around half an hour due to injuries.
We did have a period under Klopp of struggling to score in finals and from open play. 9 goals scored in 10 finals. Even Origi’s goal in Madrid is basically the second phase of a set-piece.
