He has declined a lot and is no longer capable of carrying us as he did last season. At times this season he has been comically bad.
That said, he´s still comfortably our most dangerous wide player if not attacker. You see when he and Wirtz play together that the link up is our biggest threat.
If the club sacked Slot on Monday, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mo did a u-turn and wanted to come back. He very clearly does not want to leave and is only leaving because his relationship with Slot is in tatters.
Thing is, I’m sure we’re thrilled by the notion of not having to pay his wages anymore.
Oh, no doubt about that. I think the club are desperate to get that off the books. There is probably a fair bit of regret that he was given the extension in the first place.
Having listened to the various, lengthy, interviews Mo has given since the announcement he’s off, I think his mind is made up, and he will be leaving regardless of who’s in charge.
I’m fine with it, he’s never going to hit the heights he has done in the past for us, him leaving takes a big chunk of the wages off the books, and hopefully allows the club to bring in the right players to get the make-up of the squad correct.
Whether the man at the helm can put the pieces together remains questionable.
Don’t mind what Carra said, I agree with the most of it. Bits and pieces were exaggerated though. Mo has his opinion, Carra has his and is actually paid for it.
Carragher has NO business commenting on Salah’s actions. Because he is a damn hypocrite.
He sidled up to Purslow and got a fat and frankly undeserved last contract when LFC were in financial dire straits thanks to H&G.Him and Stevie moaned enough to give that shower the ammunition to sack Rafa when we needed him the most. And when Purslow asked Stevie and him about Hodgson they gave him two thumbs up…thereby paving the way for the worst manager in Liverpool’s history.
Jamie, just because, through zero control of your own, you happen to be born a Scouser, doesn’t mean you can take from Liverpool FC however you like and can call a proper legend of the club selfish because it helps draw an audience for your “punditry” and podcast business. To be a pundit (Sanskrit/bengali word) literally means to be a knowledgeable expert. All you are an expert in is talking shite.
One the greatest legends ever. I’ll never compare Mo to this opportunist who inherited an amazing team that was used to going up against a cheating powerhouse for nearly a decade.
If she wants to get into a wrestling match, I’d be happy to oblige.
(By the way, a bit of criticism of the way he and ‘his people’ occasionally use the media to promote himself, put pressure on the club and get what he wants, shouldn’t be seen as hatred towards him. He’s an amazing footballer and I’m hugely privileged to have seen his decade at the club)
I like Ready, she is probably right to draw some inferences on why people react to Mo doing things they don’t to others, but her premise here is shaky. When someone is noted for how little they speak publicly (whether that is a fair assessment or no of Salah is separate) then it is kind of implicit in that position that when they speak there will naturally be questions about what the motivations are for it.
