Nathaniel PHILLIPS: 2021/22 (on loan at Bournemouth)

We frequently renew contracts of young fringe players going out on loan, who would be available for sale at the right price. I think this is just the same thing.

Welcome back Nutcracker :+1:

With Gomez still injured/recovering, do you think he should start against Porto?

No. Konate and VVD I think. Prefer to give Williams a start at RB if we are rotating defensively.

Result don’t matter that much apart from the money, I would give Nat a start.

Results always matter, its psychological and affects momentum. The odd hiccup can help get rid of complacency but more and it can feel like underlying issues. Best thing for team momentum, positivity and creating that unstoppable feeling is a few fringe/second choice guys in good form like Minamino, Konate, Morton and Williams come in to give some heavily used players rests. There’s no need to change everyone and go in cold with players that would usually only be turned to in emergencies.

Result really matters to the owners because its worth 2.4m for each remaining game but its not going to change group.

VVD has already played a lot of games for club and country and the Porto game is one of the few where we can afford to rest him.

Sorry Nat, We could sell you for 70M to Manchester United but we wouldn’t want to ruin your career as you’re one of us.

Nat Phillips and Konate for CL remaining games.

Wouldn’t let any of our players go to the Mancs…anyway why would you want to go to shit spineless fog brained team like the Mancs.

Till the finals in May? :stuck_out_tongue:

I think Nat would be looking to leave and if he does, I would have the utmost respect for a player who has the biggest respect for the club and the management and never complain about his role. He has improved so much under Klopp. Selfishly if he leaves, I hope he goes to Villa because I think Gerrard would develop a player well but wherever he chooses to go or even stay, always a Liverpool boy in our hearts.

It’s not often that the club does exactly what I want and it’s probably just as well, but JK more or less confirmed yesterday that he would be allowed to go in Jan after keeping him around just to be sure that all the CBs coming back from injury would be OK. It always seemed the sensible thing to do. Said some nice things about him too. I hope he gets a run out at the San Siro.

Another consideration may be if someone else is ready to take that 5th spot? Talk we aren’t happy with the lack of game time Rhys Williams is getting with Swansea and we might recall him. Or maybe they believe one of the youth guys like Quansah or Koumetio may be ready to step up? Maybe @Sweeting would know about the youth options?

Van Den Berg is getting lots of game time at Preston so I would keep him there.

Seems to have also grown a bit recently, definitely looks less like he needs a good meal.

Surely it was the hunger that made him what he was, no?

Our backup R(W)B next season when we sell Williams.

:joy:

Must start against Milan. Bolton Baresi returning to San Siro, should be epic.
