Sport1 report that Leicester and Newcastle hold an interest in the young defender, with Schalke hoping his performances over the summer help them to bump up the asking price.
He is better than Caglar Soyuncu, who reminds me of Sotirios Kyrgiakos.

I think Soyuncu is very good. And if theyāre going to partner him with Demiral then fair enough for Kabak to be on the bench, but itās surprising to see him being overlooked in favour of that other guy.

To be honest I can understand if on paper and in normal form, Kabak is a little bit behind those two, but not too far of course.
An article from BILD saying that our option to buy was Ā£17,5m and Schalke will now be happy if they are able to recoup the Ā£13m they paid for him a few years ago.

Because everyone is treating them like vultures to picked clean, or because of Kabak himself?
Schalke are in a financial mess and have to sell players.
Wonder if we would consider buying him for the money we generate with a Nat sale.

Would he come to be fifth choice? He can surely do better than that.
The guy doesnāt start for Turkey.
Whereas he came in and did a job for us and was steady we need to move on from him now I think.
If we sell Nat (hope we donāt) then one of the a academy guys should get the 5th CB slot
Iād still take a punt on him.
Turkey choosing to start Soyoncu and Demiral over Ozan isnāt a surprise. Heād also not be expected to start at Liverpool. I also believe that he would have looked even better for us with one of Virgil, Gomez or Matip fit last season.
Nat out and Kabak in is a squad upgrade - albeit Iād like Nat to stay.
Going into next season with our CB options as Virgil, Gomez, Matip, Konate and Kabak or Nat would do fine. Assuming Ben Davies stays and beds in, thatās 6. Send Williams on loan to a Championship club.

Would rather keep Nat. Nat has been immense and gives everything for the cause. I rate him above Kabak. His aerial advantage is immense and hardly loses a header. Think we will play 3 CBās at the back in a 3-4-3 and next to Van Dyk and Gomez/Konate he would be unstoppable. What he lacks in pace is more than offset by his reading of the gameā¦

This topic has got out of control. There is some absolute nonsense being spouted at this point.
- Nat is a good guy.
- Nat does his bestā¦
- Nat did a job for us.
- Nat can do a job for us as 5th or 6th choice.
- Nat is not Franco Baresi, Franz Beckenbauer or even Jamie Carragher.
