I will post more tomorrow about my match day and parade day experience.
What I have learned so far. If you don’t live in Liverpool and want to see a future parade, make sure you come at least the day before and if you can, leave the next day. I heard people missed their trains and flights from Manchester to other destinations on parade day. Lime street station closed all the entrances except one and there queues for miles and we were given misinformation about certain trains running.
You never know with the public transport
I hope you didn’t have the chip payment enabled for that
which enables purchase without the PIN.Myy wife lost her card once (while she had that enabled) and reported it the next day. Luckily no one used the card in between but to say I was annoyed was an understatement especially when I said it was a bad idea for her to not have that additional layer of security.
I was walking close to the queue on Monday evening and never saw a bigger line of people in my life. I think the end was at the top of Bold Street, close to where I was staying.
Have the police said how many attended the event? I’ve seen a range of estimates but I thought the police normally said how many people attend these sorts of things and were more accurate then ‘the internet’.
