Not the end of the world. We look dangerous and will definitely score a couple more. Our pressing has been top notch. Grav having an excellent game.. key in breaking all their attacks and so immense in turning into ours.

Surprised that stood, looked like he was stood right in front of the keeper. Just really lax defending though, should never be conceding a goal like that a minute before the half ends. Common sense to sit in a bit and nobody is there to make a tackle.

The way they interpret that part of the rule is really really dumb. He wasnt directly in the line of sight of Ali when the shot was taken so they’ll overlook it. The fact he ultimately crossed through Ali’s view of the ball as it was travelling is disregarded by them. It’s an absurd interpretation.

Yes I blame that too. We were doing pretty good holding onto that lead but then, 45 minute mark hit and you can see everyone RELAX and switch off. They were too casual chasing down their men on that goal. I want to see replay again I thought some guys literally pulled up.

Despite the commentators suggesting it’s even, I think we’ve been far the better team. Some lovely attacking patterns. As has often been the case this season, the issue has been the defence switching off at a key moment.

First half:
So much good stuff. Wirtz looking good. Salah hungry and playing his best game of the season so far. Gravenberch imperious. Isak getting into it and taking a couple of quick shots. Looks silky.
So much to like. Atletico are an upper European team and we were on another level.
With that said, their goal was a bit of a sucker punch on the half time. We should have been concentrating better as they were starting to build up a little head of steam as the break got nearer.
First goal second half will be crucial.

That said, we could have been out of sight before we conceded.
One of their players in the line of the keeper, shame we conceded though.

HT 2-1:
Due to the late goal, the game is now wide open. Fantastic start for our lads, with some electric attacking moves, and two early goals. Mo on absolute fire, absolutely fantastic. Then a long period of controlling the game, with Atletico showing that they are a good side. Then again, during the last ten minutes of the half, really good moves from our lads, but without finding the third goal.
Last minute of extra-time. Our forwards seem too tired to apply the same high pressing as they have done all the time before, Atletico are allowed to develop their game, and bang, score a good goal.
All in all a good half, but it can go anywhere from there. Put on Ekitike right away, as Isak looked grilled towards the end.

Sloppy goal conceded that should have been ruled out. Otherwise, by far the best half of our season so far. When we click properly we’re gonna be brilliant to watch!
